    Selecting how to show 4:3 aspect pictures on the LCD
    ≥If you are not using the LCD on this unit, select “OFF” to conserve power.
    (The [Í] indicator flashes)≥The LCD turns off automatically if you close it.
    Adjusting the picture quality on the LCD
    Press [PICTURE MODE] to cancel the screen.
    Advanced Surround [RAM] [DVD-V] [VCD] (Discs with more than 2ch audio)
    A surround sound effect can be made using 2 speakers (on other equipment).≥For discs recorded with surround sound signals, the surround signals also appear to be heard from 
    the side.
    ≥Turn the surround feature on the connected equipment off.≥Optimum seating position is 3 to 4 times the distance between the front left and right speakers or the 
    width of the television if using the television speakers.
    When using headphones, press to select “HP 1 Natural” or “HP 2 Enhanced”.

    By just pressing one button the disc type is automatically determined and the best audio and video 
    settings which are indicated below are configured.
     
    Multi Re-master
    [RAM] [DVD-V] (Discs recorded with 48 kHz only)
    [DVD-A](Discs recorded with 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz only)
    [VCD] [CD]
    This feature gives you a more natural sound by adding the higher frequency signals not recorded on 
    the disc.
    [WMA] [MP3] (Disc recording is other than 8 kHz, 16 kHz and 32 kHz)
    This feature reproduces the frequencies lost during recording to give you a sound closer to the original.
    ≥Multi Re-master may not work when connecting with a digital optical cable (➜page 23) .

    Select “Play as Data Disc” in Other Menu. (➜page 19).
    ≥To exit the all group, program or random mode, press [PLAY MODE] several times while stopped.

    You can play JPEG files on DVD-RAM or play HighMAT discs without using the HighMAT function
    (➜page 19, “Play as Data Disc” in Other Menu).

    Place the cursor on the group title to search a group, or place the cursor on the content title to search content.
    1 Select “Find” (➜ see above).
