2Press [3, 4] to select an item and press [ENTER].

erased if the power is turned off when dubbing from the HDD).
–Erasing an original program or play list.
–When the SD VIDEO (MPEG4) program is erased on the original
drive or when recording or dubbing SD VIDEO (MPEG4) pro-
    grams on the original drive.
≥When dubbing using the “MPEG2 to 4” mode, the displayed
“Remain” value is calculated using video segments that contain
the most information. You may be able to dub even if “Amount” has
exceeded “Remain” when video images do not change rapidly.
≥Regarding the time until dubbing ends (High Speed mode)
–You can high speed dub Dolby Digital audio programs. LPCM
audio programs take about the same amount of dubbing time.
–The current progress indicator is corrected each time the pro-
    gram being dubbed changes.
–When there are programs mixed with LPCM audio and Dolby
Digital audio, the dubbing time display may fluctuate significantly.
–When dubbing SD VIDEO (MPEG4) programs, the time display
    may fluctuate.
≥It is not possible to activate timer recording during dubbing.
≥Title information etc. is dubbed as is. However, when using
“MPEG2 to 4” mode, protect settings are not dubbed. Markers are
only dubbed if you use “High Speed” dubbing mode.
≥Select the audio format for recording SAP broadcast from “Select
MTS” in the setup menu (➜ page 53, Audio) when:
     –Dubbing to a DVD-R.

    ≥
Use [:], [9] to switch between folders when there are other
folders on the mobile hard disc which are not displayable on screen.
    [HDD] > [RAM] [DVD-R]
You can dub programs and play lists being played from the HDD to a
    DVD-RAM, DVD-R.
    [HDD] [RAM]

    2Press [2, 1] to select “Yes” and
    press [ENTER].
    To stop dubbing

≥If stopped partway, dubbing will be up to that point. However, in
high speed mode, only programs that have completed dubbing at
the point stopped are dubbed. (Remaining disc space will be
reduced once you have recorded/dubbed to DVD-R.)
    [Note]
≥This function works even while the program list or play list screen
    is being displayed.
≥It is not possible to activate timer recording during dubbing.
≥Programs with recording limitations (including play lists made from
    those programs) cannot be dubbed.
The recording mode is set as follows:
    ≥High speed mode:
    –When dubbing to a DVD-RAM.
–When the programs recorded with “Rec in DVD-R high speed
mode” (➜page 52) set to “On” and play lists created from that
programs are being dubbed to a DVD-R.
–When dubbing a SD VIDEO (MPEG4) program to a card.
    ≥Original dubbing mode:
–When the programs recorded with “Rec in DVD-R high speed
mode” set to “Off ” is being dubbed to a DVD-R.
    ≥FR (Flexible Recording) (➜page 15):
–Based on the above conditions, the mode automatically changes
to FR when there is not enough room left on the disc.
–When dubbing play lists created from the programs recorded with
“Rec in DVD-R high speed mode” set to “Off ” to a DVD-R.
§1Refer to the approximate recording times. (➜below) §2You cannot select this mode if “MPEG4 Rec mode” (➜page 52) is
    set to “Off ”.
§3You cannot select the high speed mode when dubbing programs or
play lists from the HDD to a DVD-R that do not display the
    “”.
≥You will not be able to obtain better picture quality of the original
picture even if you select a higher quality picture mode than the
    original. (Only prevents picture degradation.)

∫Approximate SD card capacity and dubbing
capacity for SD VIDEO (MPEG4) programs
≥Using a Panasonic SD Memory Card.
    ≥
You cannot dub a program utilizing the maximum capacity of the card
due to the additional recording of copyright information etc.
≥The first value indicates video with non-rapid movement, the sec-
    ond value indicates rapid movement.

    (➜page 20).
4Press [ENTER] at the end point.
    To specify another scene
Select “Next” and press [ENTER], then repeat steps 3 and 4.

    The play list screen appears.
To clear the play list screen
    Press [PLAY LIST].

    ≥
You may not be able to specify points within 3 seconds of each other.
≥Play pauses if the end of the last program on the disc is reached
    during this procedure.
≥Depending on the state of recording, the actual number of play
lists that can be recorded may be less than that specified in this
    manual.
≥You can high speed dub play lists created from recorded programs
to a DVD-R by switching “Rec in DVD-R high speed mode” to “On”
    excluding the following cases.
–Play lists created from programs using a variety of recording
    modes.
–Play lists created from multiple programs using “FR” recording
