You can zoom-in to make people and objects appear closer or zoom-out to record
landscapes in wide angle. To make subjects appear even closer [maximum of 7.1k
(DMC-FS5)/4.8k (DMC-FS3)], do not set the picture size to the highest setting for each
aspect ratio (X/Y/W).
Even higher levels of magnification are possible when [DIGITAL ZOOM] is set to [ON] in
[REC] menu.

Zooming returns at high speed as far as Wide.When the zoom position returns to the Wide while the maximum picture size is set, the picture
size which was changed in the extended optical zoom range now returns to what it was
originally. Also, the picture size returns to what it was originally when the zoom position has
been returned to the optical zoom range using the zoom lever.
