¢1What is bit rate
This is the volume of data for a definite period of time, and the quality becomes 
higher when the number gets bigger. This unit  is using the “VBR” recording method. 
“VBR” is an abbreviation of “Variable Bit Rate”, and the bit rate (volume of data for 
definite period of time) is changed automatic ally depending on the subject to record. 
Therefore, the recording time is shortened when a subject with fast movement is 
recorded.

It will continually keep focusing on the subject that the focus was set on.Note
•
[CONTINUOUS AF] is continuously fixed to [ON] in Intelligent Auto Mode.•It may take a while for the recording to start when the [CONTINUOUS AF] is set to [ON].
This will reduce the noise from wind hitting the built-in microphone.

Sound quality will be different than usual when [WIND CUT] is set to [ON].•[WIND CUT] cannot be set for Intelligent Auto Mode and some of the scene...

ALED light•Maximum illuminating range of the LED light is 70 cm (2.29 feet).•The life of battery will decrease when the LED light is turned on

Taking a picture with Face Recognition function
For details on [REC] mode menu settings, refer to P25.
Following 
[FACE RECOG.] functions will work when [FACE RECOG.] in [REC] mode menu is 
set to [ON].

It will search for the face similar to the registered face, setting the 
focus and exposure preferentially.
•If a name is set for a registered face, the name is displayed when 
the camera detects the registered face.

∫Registering from the automatic registration screen
When the [AUTO REGISTRATION] is set to [ON] in step 3 of the “Face settings”, the 
registration screen will display automatically afte r taking the picture of a face that has a 
high number of appearances.
(Registration screen is displayed after approximately 5 pictures. It is not counted when the 
Burst Mode and auto bracket is set.)

Useful Functions at Travel Destinations
For details on the [SETUP] menu settings, refer to P25.If you set the departure date or the travel destination of the vacation in advance, the number of 
days that have passed since the departure date (which day of the vacation it is) is recorded

∫Canceling the travel date
The travel date is automatically canceled if the current date is after the return date. If you 
want to cancel the travel date before the end of the vacation, select [OFF] on the screen 
shown in step 
3 or 7 and then press [MENU/SET] twice. If the [TRAVEL SETUP] is set to 
[OFF] in step 3, [LOCATION] will be also set to [OFF].

The travel date is calculated using the date in the clock setting and the departure date you set.
