Connecting to other equipment 103VQT0W82 3Disconnect the USB connection cable after printing. ∫Setting the date printing with the DPOF print in advance We recommend setting DPOF date printing with [DPOF PRINT] (P93) in advance when the printer supports it. If you select [DPOF PICTURE], printing starts and the recording date is printed. ∫Layout printing When printing a picture several times on 1 sheet of paper For example, if you want to print a picture 4 times on 1 sheet of paper, set [PAGE LAYOUT] to [ ] and then set [NUM. OF PRINTS] to 4. When printing different pictures on 1 sheet of paper (only in DPOF printing) For example, if you want to print 4 different pictures on 1 sheet of paper, set [PAGE LAYOUT] to [ ] and then set [COUNT] in [DPOF PRINT] (P92) to 1 for each of the 4 pictures. Do not disconnect the USB connection cable when the cable disconnection warning icon [ ] is displayed. (Depending on the printer, the icon may not be displayed.) If the remaining battery power becomes low while the camera and the printer are connected, the status indicator blinks and the alarm beeps. If this happens during printing, press [MENU/SET] and stop printing at once. If not printing, disconnect the USB connection cable. The camera is receiving an error message from the printer when the [¥] indication lights orange during printing. After finishing printing, make sure there are no problems with the printer. If the total number of DPOF prints or the number of DPOF pictures printed is high, pictures may be printed several times. The remaining number of prints indicated may differ from the number set. This is not a malfunction. With date printing, the setting on the printer may take priority over the setting on the camera. Check the date print setting on the printer also. If the printer does not support RAW printing, the JPEG picture recorded simultaneously is printed. If no JPEG picture was recorded simultaneously, printing may not be possible.

Set to Aperture-priority AE mode [ ] or Manual exposure mode [ ] on the camera and then set the same aperture value and ISO sensitivity on the external flash. (The exposure cannot be compensated adequately due to the change on the aperture value in shutter-priority AE mode [ ] and the external flash cannot control the light adequately in AE mode [ ] because the aperture value cannot be fixed.) Others 106VQT0W82 You can set the aperture value, the shutter speed and the ISO sensitivity on the camera even when attaching the external flash. Some commercial external flashes have synchro terminals with high-voltage or reversed polarity. Using such external flashes may cause a malfunction or the camera may not operate normally. Be sure to use Panasonic’s external flash (DMW-FL500). If you use commercially available external flashes with communication functions other than the dedicated one, they may not operate normally or they may be damaged. Do not use them. Even if the external flash is turned off, the camera may enter the external flash mode when the external flash is attached. When you are not using the external flash, detach it or set it to Forced OFF. When attaching the external flash, the built-in flash cannot be activated. Do not open the built-in flash when an external flash is attached. When attaching the external flash, the camera will become unstable. Detach the external flash when carrying the camera. Read the operating instructions of the external flash for details.Using the MC Protector/PL Filter The MC protector (DMW-LMCH72; optional) is a transparent filter which affects neither the colors nor the amount of light, so it can always be used to protect the camera’s lens. Also, the PL filter (DMW-LPL72; optional) reduces diffused light reflection so you can take pictures with increased contrast. 1Detach the lens cap. 2Attach the MC protector A or the PL filter B. B A

Others 107VQT0W82 You cannot attach the MC protector and the PL filter at the same time. If the MC protector/PL filter are tightened too much, you may not be able to remove them. Do not tighten them too much. When taking pictures with the flash using the MC protector or PL filter, vignetting effect may occur. If the MC protector/PL filter are dropped, they may be destroyed. Be careful not to drop them when attaching them to the camera. You can attach the lens cap or the lens hood when the MC Protector and the PL Filter are attached. Read the operating instructions of the MC protector or the PL filter for details.
