Camera Status Notification Application Instructions When communication with the camera is disconnected, a notification E-mail is sent. Enter the sent mail (SMTP) servers address*1 or host name (1-255 characters)*2. Enter the received mail (POP3) servers address*1 or host name (1-255 characters)*2. Enter the received mail (POP3) servers login ID.*3 Enter the received mail (POP3) servers password.*3 Enter the return destinations (sent source) E-mail address. It is recommended that you enter the administrators E-mail Address. Up to 5 E-mail destinations can be set. Data Entry Field *1 Set 4 numbers (0-255) and 3 periods, in the form of 192.163.0.253 (However 0.0.0.0 or 255.255.255.255 cannot be used.) *2 Only alphanumeric characters can be used. However, [Space], [], [], [#], [&], [%], [=], [+], [?], [], and [:] cannot be used. *3 When POP3 authentication is r equired during mail forwarding, set it, checking with the network administrator or ISP. 3.Set each heading and click [Save]. 4.Click [Restart]. 1.Click [Applications] on the menu page. 2.Click [E-mail Setup for Applications]. 5.Click [Applications] on the menu page. 6.Select the Camera Status Notification application from the Application list, and click [Setup]. 7.Check the subject cameras for this application, and click [Save]. 8.Click [Back]. 9.Select the Camera Status Notification applicati on from the Application list, and click [Execute]. 10.Click [Refresh]. • When a mail is received at the set E-mail address to notify that Camera Status Notification has started, setu p is complete. Notes When there is a router set in between this product and the camera, you may be notified of a disconnection. In that case, uncheck that camera on the setup page, and cancel Camera Status Notification. Depending on the network status, it may take seve ral minutes for the Camera Status Notification E-mail to arrive. If this product is not connected to the Interne t, the Camera Status Notification E-mail will not be sent. Camera Status Notification is performed every 10 minutes, so a disconnection may not be detected for up to 10 minutes. Cameras registered by URL are not supported.
The Contents of the Disconnection Detection E-mail ContentsDescription This E-mail is sent when this product is restarted, the AC adaptor is re-connected, or the application is disabled then re-executed. This E-mail is sent when for some reason, such as this product is restarted or the AC adaptor is re-connected, the camera has been disconnected from the network. In that case, turn the camera on, and check that all cables are connected correctly. When there is a router set in between this product and the camera, you may receive a Disconnection Detection E-mail. In that case, unchec k that camera on the setup page, and cancel Camera Status Notification. When the radio waves are particularly weak in a wireless network, you may receive a Disconnection Detection E-mail. In that case, unchec k that camera on the setup page, and cancel Camera Status Notification. Troubleshooting Title: Camera Status Notification Start Disconnection detection for the camera below has started. cam1 · · · Title: Disconnection Detection. A disconnected camera has been detected. cam1 Disconnected · · · See the network camera support website for more details. ProblemCause and Remedy The Camera Status Notification Start E-mail was not received. Check that this product is connected to the Internet. See A website is not displayed in Troubleshooting in the Installation/Troubleshooting manual. Check that the Camera Status Notification application is In Use. You can check this on the Application list in Execution Control and Registration Deletion of Applications. If the application is disabled, select it and click [Execute]. Check that the camera is checked on the Camera Status Notification application setup page. Select the application, and click [Setup]. If the camera is unchecked, check it and click [Save]. Check that the E-mail settings are correct, by clicking Applications on the menu page, then E-mail Setup for Applications. Check if the Camera Status Notification Start E-mail has been sent from this product to the Internet, by clicking Log on the menu page, then Display Mail Transmission Log. If the Camera Status Notification Start E-mail has been sent successfully to the In ternet, a message to that effect is displayed.

Also, depending on your ISP, it could take more time for the E-mail to arrive, please wait a while. After receiving the Camera Status Notification Start E- mail, even if the camera has been disconnected, the Camera Status Notification E- mail was not received. Camera Status Notification is performed every 10 minutes. A disconnection may not be detected for up to 10 minutes, please wait a while. There is a router set in between this product and the camera, and even though the camera is connected, a Disconnection Detection E-mail was received. By sending a Ping from this product to the camera, you can perform Disconnection Detection. When there is a router set in between this product and the camera and the Ping cannot pass through, you are notified of a disconnection. In that case, uncheck that camera on the setup page, and cancel Camera Status Notification. The Camera Status Notification E-mail is received frequently even though the camera is connected to a wireless network. The radio waves being sent between the camera and this product may be unstable. Try changing the wireless channel of the network (see Using Wireless in Operating Instructions on the CD-ROM) or try strengthening the radio waves by adjusting the position of the camera.
