LOCKTIMERSEARCH COUNTERLOCK CNT RESET RESET/CANCEL STOP FWD ADV POWER HDRPOWER AG- 6-3 Timer Recording This unit is provided with 2 different setting screens for timer recording program; one allows you to specify the day of week, the other allows you to specify a date (a holiday, for example). You can select the desired setting screen from the main menu screen. •Program timer setting: Day-of-the-week (Sun. to Sat.) timer recording program and daily timer recording program are available (for up to 8 programs). •Holiday setting: Timer recording can be programmed for a specified date. * The holiday setting has priority over the program timer setting. 6 RECORDING [TIMER] button[SET +] button [SET –] button [SHIFT7] button [SHIFT4] button [MENU] button Timer Recording Program Setting 5Timer recording programming for the specified day of the week (Example) HDR is performed in the 24-hour recording speed mode from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. 1Turn on the VCR and monitor and engage the Stop mode. 2Press the [MENU] button. [The main menu is shown on the monitor. 3Select the HIGH DENSITY REC mode. 1 Press the [SHIFT 7] button to move the cursor to on the main menu. Then press the [SET +/–] button. [The menu is shown on the monitor. 2 Press the [SHIFT 7] button to put the cursor on . 3 Press the [SET +/–] button to set to “ON”. 4Press the [MENU] button to restore the main menu screen. Notes: •Timer programming is not possible if the date and time are not set. If you select program timer or holiday setting from the main menu when the date and time have not been set, the clock setting screen opens. Set the date and time. •Do not try to program the regular timer or holiday timer when the Timer Record mode is engaged. To do so, you must first release the Timer Record mode by pressing the [TIMER] button. Press the [SET +/–] button to set the minute of the start time to “00”. 9In the same way, set the hour (17) and minute (00) for the stop time. * When the stop time is earlier than the start time or the same as the start time, “T” is added to the beginning of the stop time, showing that the stop time is for the next day. 0Set the recording speed mode (H/D 24). Press the [SHIFT f] button so that “SPD” blinks and press the [SET +/–] button to set the recording speed to (H/D 24). * When the HIGH DENSITY REC mode is selected, H/D is shown for “SPD”. !Set the program item. Press the [SHIFT f] button so that “PGM” blinks and set the program item with the [SET +/–] button. 1ST: Timer recording is executed only once on the most recent specified day of the week (Saturday). RPT: Timer recording is executed on the specified day of the week (Saturday) every week. (Example) HDR is performed in the 48-hour mode from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. 1Repeat steps 1 to 5 in “Timer Recording Program Setting” on pages 31 and 32. 2Set the day of the week on to “DAY” with the [SET +/–] button. 3Press the [SHIFT f] button so that the “hour” for the start time blinks and set “hour” to “10” with the [SET +/–] button. 4Press the [SHIFT f] button so that the “minute” for the start time blinks and set “minute” to “00” with the [SET +/ –] button. 5Press the [SHIFT f] button and [SET +/–] button to set the hour of the stop time to “17”, the minute of the stop time to “00”, the recording speed to “H/D48” and “PGM” to “ON”. 6Set the days of the week when timer recording is to be executed (Monday, Wednesday, Saturday). Set the days with “DAILY SET” at the lower section of the screen. • Press the [SHIFT 7] button so that “SUN” in the lowest line blinks. 7Press the [SET +/–] button to set “SUN” to “– –”. 8Press the [SHIFT f] button to select the day of the week and set the operating day of the week with the [SET +/–] button. 37 6-3 Timer Recording Notes on Timer Recording 5If you make a mistake when programming or no program is set and the [TIMER] button is pressed, the TIMER indication blinks for about 10 seconds and a warning buzzer sounds if in the menu is set to “ON”. = Perform programming for timer recording. * Note that if the date is not set for holiday timer recording, the TIMER indication will not blink, the time standby mode is not engaged, and recording will not take place. 5If programmed data overlap When the [TIMER] button is pressed, the Timer- Recording Standby mode is engaged and the [OVERLAP] indication blinks for about 10 seconds, then lights. (However, if program timer settings and holiday timer settings overlap, the [OVERLAP] indication is not shown. In this case, the holiday timer setting has priority. The [OVERLAP] indication is not shown when a daily timer recording program overlaps with another program (even during program timer setting). The program with the earlier start time has priority.) = Check the program contents. (With program timer settings, the program with the earlier program time has priority.) 5When more than one timer recording is programmed. = •The preset programs are executed consecutively beginning with the program with the earliest start time. The number of the program being executed blinks. * Program numbers are not displayed for holiday timer recording programs. 5When the timer recording mode is engaged after the start time has passed ... When a power failure occurs within the set times and power is restored ... = •Timer recording starts within the set times. * If holiday timer and program timer settings overlap, the holiday timer setting has priority and starts. * When program timer settings overlap, the program with the lower program number has priority and starts. 5When the timer recording settings are changed during timer recording. = Changing the settings on the program timer setting screen or holiday timer setting screen during timer recording will have no effect.
