E nglish 32 Appendices Problem: No image appears on screen. 4Ensure that all cables and power connections are correctly and securely connected as described in the “Installation” section. 4Ensure that the pins of connectors are not crooked or broken. 4Check to see if the projection lamp has been securely installed. Please refer to the “Replacing the Lamp” section for more information. 4Make sure that you have removed the lens cap and that the projector is powered on. 4Ensure that the “Hide” feature is not turned on. Problem: Partial, scrolling or incorrectly displayed images 4Press “Re-Sync” on the Remote Control or press “Auto Image” on the Control Panel. 4If you are using a PC: For Windows 3.x: 1.In the Windows Program Manager, double click the “Windows Setup” icon in the Main group. 2.Verify that your display resolution setting is less than or equal to 1280 x 1024. For Windows 95, 98, 2000, XP: 1.From the “My Computer” icon, open the “Control Panel” folder, and double click the “Display” icon. 2.Select the “Settings” tab 3.Click on the “Advanced Properties” button. If the projector is still not displaying the entire image, you may need to change the monitor display that you are using. Refer to the following steps. Troubleshooting If you experience trouble with the projector, please refer to the following information (listed below). If the problem persists, contact your local reseller or service center immediately.
E nglish 33 4.Verify the resolution setting is less than or equal to 1280 x 1024 resolution. 5.Select the “Change” button under the “Monitor” tab . 6.Click on “Show all devices.” Next, select “Standard monitor types” under the SP box; choose the resolution mode you need under the “Models” box. 7.Verify that the resolution setting of the monitor display is less than or equal to 1280 x 1024. 4If you are using a Notebook PC: 1.First, follow the steps above to adjust resolution of the computer. 2.Switch the Notebook PC display to the “external display only” or “CRT only” mode. 4If you experience difficulty changing resolutions or your monitor freezes, restart all equipment including the projector. Problem: The screen of the Notebook or PowerBook com- puter is not displaying a presentation. 4If you are using a Notebook PC: Some Notebook PCs may deactivate their own screens when a second display device is in use. Each has a different way to be reactivated. Refer to your computer’s documentation for detailed information. Problem: Image is unstable or flickering 4Use “Tracking” to correct it. See page 24 for more information. 4Change the monitor color setting or the frequency on your computer. Problem: Image has vertical flickering bar 4Use “Frequency” to make an adjustment. See page 24 for more information. 4Check and reconfigure the display mode of your graphics card to ensure compatibility. Appendices
E nglish 34 Appendices Problem: Image is out of focus 4Adjusts the Focus Ring on the projector lens. Refer to page 14. 4Make sure the projection screen is between the required distance 4.9 to 40.7 feet (1.5 to 12.5 meters) from the projector. Problem: Image is reversed. 4Press “Menu”, then select “Management” to adjust the projection mode. Problem: Lamp burns out or makes a popping sound 4When the lamp reaches its end of life, it will burn out and may make a loud popping sound. If this happens, the projector will not turn back on until the lamp module has been replaced. To replace the lamp, follow the procedures in “Replacing the Lamp” page 35. Replacement Suggested!” will be shown about 10 seconds, when lamp is nearing end of life. 4“Projector Overheated. Lamp will automatically turn off soon.” will be shown when the system temperature is too high. 4“Fan fail. Lamp will automatically turn off soon.” will be shown when the fan is out of order.
E nglish 35 Replacing the Lamp The projector will detect the lamp life itself. It will show you a warning message “Lamp may fail soon ! Replacement Suggested !” When you see this message, please contact your local reseller or service center. Make sure the projector has cooled down for at least 30 minutes before replacing the lamp. Warning: Lamp compartment is hot! Allow it to cool down before replacing lamp! Lamp Replacing Procedure: 1.Switch off the power to the projector by pressing the Power button. 2.Allow the projector to cool down at least 30 minutes. 3.Disconnect the power cord. 4.Use a screwdriver to remove the screw from the cover.n 5.Push up and remove the cover.o 6.Remove the 2 screws from the lamp module.p 7.Pull out the lamp module. q To replace the lamp module, reverse the previous steps. Warning: To reduce the risk of personal injury, avoid dropping the lamp module or touching the lamp bulb. If dropped, the bulb may shatter and cause injury. Appendices 1 2 3 4
