 Taking panoramas
If you have installed the supplied computer software, you can use it to \
join pictures together 
to form a panorama. g “Connecting the camera to a computer” (P. 100)
1 Rotate the mode dial to SCN.
2 Select [Panorama] and press  Q.
3 Use FGHI to choose a pan direction.
4 Take a picture, using the guides to frame the shot.
•  Focus, exposure, and other settings are  fi xed at the 
values for the fi  rst shot.

•  If the camera is turned off during shooting, all the data for images up to that point is cancelled and nothing is recorded on the memory card.

  Using live guides
Live guides are available in iAUTO (A) mode. While iAUTO is a full auto mode, live 
guides make it easy to access a variety of advanced photographic techniq\
ues.

 Controlling exposure (exposure compensation)
 Adjust exposure compensation. Choose positive (“+”) values to ma\
ke pictures brighter, 
negative (“–”) values to make pictures darker. Exposure can be adjusted by ±3.0 EV.

 Using a fl ash (fl ash photography)
The fl ash can be set manually as required. The  fl ash can be used for fl  ash 
photography in a variety of shooting conditions. 
1 Press the fl  ash switch to pop up the fl  ash unit.

  Choosing a focus target (AF Area)
Choose which of the 35 autofocus targets will be used for autofocus.
1 Press the P button (H) to display the AF target.
