Insert or remove the memory card Use only compatible microSD and microSDHC cards approved by Nokia for use with this phone. Incompatible cards may damage the card and the phone and corrupt data stored on the card. You can record high-definition videos with your phone. If you are recording a video to a memory card, for the best performance, use fast, high-quality microSD cards from known manufacturers. The recommended microSD card class is 4 (32Mbit/s (4MB/s)) or higher. Do not attach any stickers to your memory card. Insert the memory card If a memory card is not already inserted: 1 Remove the back cover. 2 Make sure the contact area of the memory card is facing down. Use only Nokia approved chargers designated for this phone. You can also use a compatible USB data cable to charge your phone. When the battery charge is low, power save mode is activated. To deactivate power save mode, press the power key , and select Deactivate power saving. When power save mode is activated, you may not be able to modify the settings of certain applications. Charge the battery Your battery has been partially charged at the factory, but you may need to recharge it before you can switch on your phone for the first time. If the phone indicates a low charge, do the following: 1 2 You do not need to charge the battery for a specific length of time, and you can use the phone while it is charging. If the battery is completely discharged, it may take several minutes before the charging indicator is displayed or before any calls can be made.Get started 13
If the battery has not been used for a long time, to begin charging, you may need to connect the charger, then unplug and reconnect it. Tip: You can also use a compatible USB charger to charge your battery. Charge the battery over USB Battery low, but you dont have a charger with you? Switch off Press and hold the power key . Use your phone for the first time Get started with your phone – copy contacts, messages, and other stuff from your old phone. Your phone guides you when you switch your phone on for the first time. You can also subscribe to the My Nokia service to receive helpful tips and tricks on how to make the most of your phone. To start an action, select . To skip an action, select . To use Nokia services, create a Nokia account. You need an internet connection. For info about possible costs, contact your network service provider. If you cant connect to the internet, you can create an account later. If you already have a Nokia account, type in your username and password, then select . Tip: Forgotten your password? You can request it to be sent to you in a mail or text message. Use the Phone switch app to copy your stuff, such as: •Contacts •Messages •Pictures •Videos When you set up your mail account, you can set your inbox to be shown on your home screen, so you can easily check your mail. Nokia account When you switch your phone on for the first time, your phone guides you through creating a Nokia account. You can: •Access all Nokia services with a single username and password, both on your phone and a compatible computer •Download content from Nokia services •Save details about your phone model and contact information. You can also add your payment card details. •Save your important walking and driving routes to Nokia Maps To learn more about the Nokia account and Nokia services, go to www.nokia.com/ support. To create a Nokia account later, go to account.nokia.com. Copy contacts or photos from your old phone Want to copy important info from your previous Nokia phone and start using your new phone quickly? Use the Phone switch app to copy, for example, your contacts, calendar entries, and photos to your new phone, free of charge. Your previous phone needs to support Bluetooth. 1 Select > Settings > Connectivity > Data transfer > Phone switch. 2 Select your old phone from the list, then pair the phones. Bluetooth needs to be on in both phones. 3 If the other phone requires a passcode, type in the passcode in both phones. The passcode is for the current connection only, and you can define it yourself. The passcode in some phones is fixed. If your old Nokia phone doesnt have the Phone switch app, your new phone sends it in a message using Bluetooth. To install the app, open the message in your old phone, then follow the instructions shown on the phone. Tip: You can also use the Phone switch app to copy content from other phones later. Use the user guide in your phone Your phone has a built-in user guide. Its always with you, available when needed. Select > User guide. Open the user guide from an application Select > User guide. This is not available for every application. Search the user guide When the user guide is open, select > Search, and enter a letter or a word in the search field. Open an application from the user guide Select the application link in a topic. To switch back to the user guide, press and hold the menu key, swipe left or right, and select the user guide. Links to related topics may be at the end of instructions. Tip: You also receive text messages and pop-up tips that give useful information about using your phone. To view the tips later, select > My Nokia. Install Nokia Suite on your computer With the Nokia Suite PC app, you can manage content on your phone, and keep it in sync with your compatible computer. You can also update your phone with the latest software, and download maps. A connection to the internet may be needed. For info about data costs, contact your network service provider. Download the latest version of Nokia Suite from www.nokia.com/support to your computer. Drag an item Tap and hold the item, and slide your finger across the screen. Example: You can drag items on the home screen, or when arranging the main menu. Swipe Place your finger on the screen, then slide it in the direction you want. Example: To switch to another home screen, swipe left or right.
