Press 1 or 3 to highlight Vividness or Vignetting and press 4 or 2 to change. Adjust vividness to make colors more or less saturated, vignetting to control the amount of vignetting. 3Press J. Use the multi selector to position the focus point in the area that will be in focus and then press the shutter- release button halfway to focus. To temporarily clear miniature effect options from the display and enlarge the view in the monitor for precise focus, press X. Press W (Q ) to restore the miniature effect display. 3Display options. 60 ❚❚3 Selective Color 1Select live view. Press the a button. The view through the lens will be displayed in the monitor. 2Display options. Press J to display selective color options. 3Select a color. Frame an object in the white square in the center of the display and press 1 to choose the color of the object as one that will remain in the final image (the camera may have difficulty detecting unsaturated colors; choose a saturated color). To zoom in on the center of the display for more precise color selection, press X. Press W (Q ) to zoom out. a button Selected color
61 4Choose the color range. Press 1 or 3 to increase or decrease the range of similar hues that will be included in the final image. Choose from values between 1 and 7; note that higher values may include hues from other colors. 5Select additional colors. To select additional colors, rotate the command dial to highlight another of the three color boxes at the top of the display and repeat Steps 3 and 4 to select another color. 62 P, S, A, and M Modes P, S, A , and M modes can be selected by rotating the mode dial and offer different degrees of control over shutter speed and aperture: ModeDescription P Programmed auto ( 0 63) Recommended for snapshots and in other situations in which there is little time to adjust camera settings. Camera sets shutter speed and aperture for optimal exposure. S Shutter-priority auto ( 0 63) Use to freeze or blur motion. User chooses shutter speed; camera selects aperture for best results. A Aperture-priority auto ( 0 64) Use to blur background or bring both foreground and background into focus. User chooses aperture; camera selects shutter speed for best results. M Manual ( 065) User controls both shutter speed and aperture. Set shutter speed to “Bulb” or “Time” for long time-exposures. AUsing the Built-in Flash For flash photography, press the M (Y ) button to raise the flash.
63 Mode P (Programmed Auto) This mode is recommended for snapshots or whenever you want to leave the camera in charge of shutter speed and aperture. The camera automatically adjusts shutter speed and aperture for optimal exposure in most situations. Mode S (Shutter-Priority Auto) In shutter-priority auto, you choose the shutter speed while the camera automatically selects the aperture that will produce the optimal exposure. Rotate the command dial to choose the desired shutter speed: rotate right for faster speeds, left for slower speeds. Command dial
64 Mode A (Aperture-Priority Auto) In aperture-priority auto, you choose the aperture while the camera automatically selects the shutter speed that will produce the optimal exposure. Rotate the command dial left for larger apertures (lower f-numbers), right for smaller apertures (higher f-numbers). Command dial
65 Mode M (Manual) In manual mode, you control both shutter speed and aperture. Checking the exposure indicator (066), adjust shutter speed and aperture. Shutter speed is selected by rotating the command dial (right for faster speeds, left for slower). To a d j u s t aperture, keep the E (N ) button pressed while rotating the command dial (left for larger apertures/lower f-numbers and right for smaller apertures/higher f-numbers).
