12 First Steps First Steps Charging the Battery The camera uses a rechargeable Nikon EN-EL8 lithium-ion battery (supplied). Charge the battery before first use or when the battery is running low. 1Plug in the charger. Connect the power cable to the supplied MH-62 battery charger (1) and insert the wall plug into a power outlet (2). The CHARGE lamp will light to show that the charger is on (3). 2Charge the battery. 18 First Steps Inserting Memory Cards Pictures are stored in the camera’s internal memory (24 MB) or on removable Secure Digital (SD) memory cards (available separately) (c109). If a memory card is inserted in the camera, pictures are automatically stored on the memory card and only pictures recorded to the memory card can be played back, deleted, or transferred.
