9 Introduction Th e AC Adapter The supplied EH-64 AC adapter can charge the battery in the camera ( 11) or power the camera for playback, data transfer, or printing ( do not use any other make or model of AC adapter ; failure to observe this precaution could result in fi re or product malfunction). 10 First Steps First Steps Inserting the Battery The camera uses a rechargeable EN-EL8 Li-ion battery (supplied). 1 Tu rn the camera off If the power-on lamp is lit, press the power switch to turn the camera off . 2 Open the battery-chamber/memory card slot cover 3 I nsert the battery The orange battery latch is pushed aside as the battery is inserted.
