12 s AThe & Menu The & menu is context-sensitive: its contents vary with camera set- tings or the type of image displayed; options that are currently unavail- able are shown in gray. 13 s The Function (Fn) Button The Fn button can be used for quick recall of frequently-used settings during shoot- ing. To choose the role played by the Fn button, select Assign Fn button in the setup menu ( 0193) and choose from the following options: Fn button •Exposure compensation (0 101) • Metering ( 0166) • White balance ( 0167) • ISO sensitivity ( 0172) • Picture Control ( 0173) • AF-area mode ( 0188) • Focus mode ( 0184)

14 s Tilting the Monitor The monitor can be angled and rotated as shown below. Normal use: The monitor is normally used in storage position. Low-angle shots : Tilt the monitor up to frame shots with the camera close to the ground. Once in the low-angle position, the monitor can be fur- ther lowered. High-angle shots : Tilt the monitor down to frame shots while holding the camera over your head.

15 s Self-portraits (0 108): Reverse the monitor to select self-portrait mode. DUsing the MonitorRotate the monitor gently with in the limits of the hinges. Do not use force. Failure to observe these precautions could damage the camera or monitor. If the camera is mounted on a tripod, care should be taken to ensure that the monitor does not contact the tripod.
