Configuring Your Wireless Network 21 N450 WiFi Cable Modem Router Model N450/CG3000Dv2 Add a Client Using the WPS Button Note: The first time you use WPS, it assigns a random network name (SSID) and a random password to your wireless network. If you want to keep the network name and password you specified in the Wireless Settings screen, you must select the Keep Existing Settings check box in the Advanced Wireless Settings screen. See Advanced Wireless Settings on page 52. A client is a computer or mobile device that connects wirelessly to the \ modem router. After a device is added as a client, it can automatically connect to the modem r\ outer. To add a client to your modem router using the WPS button: 1. Make sure that you know how WPS works on your client. If it works with WPS, it has a WPS utility and might also have a WPS but\ ton that you can press. 2. T ype http://192.168.0.1 in the address field of your web browser. A login screen displays. 3. Enter the modem router user name and password. The default user name is admin. The default password is password. The user name and password are case-sensitive. The modem router main menu displays. 4. In the main menu, select Add WPS Client.

You can set up email notification or you can view the logs on the modem r\ outer. To view or set up notification of attacks by email: 1. T ype http://192.168.0.1 in the address field of your web browser. A login screen displays. 2. Enter the modem router user name and password. The default user name is admin. The default password is password. The user name and password are case-sensitive. The modem router main menu displays. 3. In the main menu, under Content Filtering, select Logs. The following screen displays: 4. Enter an email address. This address is the full email address to which you want the modem route\ r to send logs. 5. Enter the SMTP server name.
