7 5. Using the Viewer Setting Option for Viewer P LAY M ODE : M ANUAL ................ Views a slide manually when the Viewer source is selected. A UTO ..................... Plays back slides automatically when the Viewer source is selected. I NTERVAL : Specifies interval time between 5 and 300 seconds. S TART : Specifies start screen when the Viewer source is selected. S HOW T HUMBNAILS : Selecting the Viewer source will display a list of thumbnails of graphic files stored in the USB memory when [ O N] is selected. Selecting the Viewer source will display a list of icons of graphic files stored in the USB memory when [OFF] is selected. S ORT : Rearranges the slides or thumbnails by name, extension, date or size. NOTE: This setting is not available for the following folders:* Folders created with the “Output Viewer” feature of Ulead Photo Ex\ plorer 8.0 or with Viewer PPT Converter 3.0 MOVING PICTURE SIZE: ORIGINAL ..............Displays the movie file in its true resolution. FULL ......................Displays the movie file to fill the screen with its original aspect \ ratio maintained. MOVING PICTURE REPEAT: OFF ........................When the movie reaches its end, its playback will stop. ON .........................When the movie reaches its end, its playback will start again from the b\ eginning. OK/C ANCEL : To close the Options menu while saving changes, select [OK] and press th\ e ENTER button. To close the Options menu without saving changes, select [ C ANCEL] and press the ENTER button.
8 5. Using the Viewer THUMBNAILS menu The THUMBNAILS menu will appear when you press the MENU button on the remote control or the projector cabinet. To close the THUMBNAILS menu, press the EXIT button. The THUMBNAILS menu includes the following commands: P LA y .................. Plays back automatically or manually depending on the setting in Options. This allows you to move on to the next slide when [ M ANUAL] is selected in the [P LA y M ODE]. L OGO ................. Replace the default background logo with another logo in JPEG, BMP, non-interlaced GIF or non-inter- laced PNG format. O PTIONS ............ Displays the Viewer setting options. Exiting Viewer To exit Viewer, switch to another input such as C OMPUTER 1, C OMPUTER 2, HDMI, V IDEO , S-V IDEO or NET- WORK. * To switch to another input, there are two ways: • Press the COMPUTER 1, COMPUTER 2, HDMI, VIDEO, S-VIDEO or NETWORK button on the remote con - trol. • Press the MENU button on the remote control to display the Viewer menu. Press the MENU button again to display the main menu and select the input from the [ S OURCE] submenu.
9 5. Using the Viewer Changing Background Logo You can change the default background logo using the Viewer feature. NOTE: File size must be 256KB or less. Maximum file resolution is 1024 x 768 for NP905 and 1280 x 800 for NP901W. File for- mats other than JPEG, BMP, non-interlaced GIF or non-interlaced PNG are not available. Preparation: Store JPEG or BMP files (JPEG, BMP, non-interlaced GIF or non-interlaced PNG files) in a USB memory into the projector’s USB port. NOTE: To change highlight from the Thumbnails screen (right window) to a directory tree (left window) , press the EXIT button. To return highlight to the Thumbnails screen, press the ENTER button. 1. Use the SELECT button to select a file (slide) for your background logo when displaying the Thumbnail screen. 2. Press the MENU button to display the THUMBNAILS menu. 3. Use the SELECT button to select [ L OGO] and then press the ENTER button. a confirmation dialog box will be displayed. 4. Use the SELECT button to select [yES] and press the ENTER button. This completes changing a logo for the background. * Once you have changed the background from the default "NEC Projector" image (jpg) to another, you cannot return the logo to background even by using [Reset]. To put the default "NEC Projector" image (jpg) back in the background logo, repeat the above steps. The default "NEC Projector" image (jpg) file is included on the supplied User Supportware 5 CD-ROM (NP905: /Logo/necpj_bb_x.jpg and NP901W: necpj_bbwx.jpg).
70 Using the Menus 1. Press the MENU button on the remote control or the projector cabinet to display the menu. NOTE: The commands such as , ENTER, EXIT in the bottom show available buttons for your operation. 2. Press the SELECT buttons on the remote control or the projector cabinet to display the submenu. 3. Press the ENTER button on the remote control or the projector cabinet to highlight the top item or the first tab. 4. Use the SELECT buttons on the remote control or the projector cabinet to select the item you want to adjust or set. y ou can use the SELECT buttons on the remote control or the projector cabinet to select the tab you want. 5. Press the ENTER button on the remote control or the projector cabinet to display the submenu window. 6. Adjust the level or turn the selected item on or off by using the SELECT buttons on the remote control or the projector cabinet. Changes are stored until you adjust it again. 7. Repeat steps 2 -6 to adjust an additional item, or press the EXIT button on the remote control or the pro - jector cabinet to quit the menu display. NOTE: When a menu or message is displayed, several lines of information may be lost, depending on the signal or settings. 8. Press the MENU button to close the menu. 71 6. Using On-Screen Menu Using ADVANCED menu and BASIC menu The projector has two menu modes: the ADVANCED menu and the BASIC menu. ADVANCED menu ..This is the menu that contains all the available menus and commands. Users with an ADMINISTRAOR or ADVANCED account can access the ADVANCED menu. BASIC menu ..........This is the basic menu that contains minimum essentials of menus and commands. Users with a BASIC account can access the BASIC menu. See page 49 for settings available to ADVANCED and BASIC menus. NOTE: • A user with an ADMINISTRATOR account that has no password set is registered at the factory. This will allow the user to access the ACCOUNT items without password en\ try. • When using your USB mouse, click each number or alphabet. BS: Delete the character before the cursor or highlight. OK/[ ]: Confirm the keyword and close the Software keyboard. Entering alphanumeric characters by using Software Keyboard [IP ADDRESS, PASSWORD] [USER NAME, PROJECTOR NAME] [PASSWORD OR KE y WORD] 1 to 0 and Characters .............................. 75 6. Using On-Screen Menu Menu Descriptions & Functions [SOURCE] COMPUTER 1 and 2 Selects the computer connected to your COMPUTER 1 or COMPUTER 2 input co\ nnector signal. NOTE: When the component input signal is connected to the COMPUTER 1 IN/COMPONENT 1 IN or COMPUTER 2 IN/COMPO- NENT 2 IN connector, select [COMPUTER 1] or [COMPUTER 2] respectively. HDMI Selects the HDMI compatible equipment connected to your HDMI IN connecto\ r. VIDEO Selects what is connected to your VIDEO input-VCR, DVD player or documen\ t camera. S-VIDEO Selects what is connected to your S-VIDEO input-VCR or DVD player. NOTE: A frame may freeze for a brief period of time when a video is played back in fast-forward or fast-rewind with a Video or S-Video source. VIEWER This feature enables you to make presentations using a USB memory that contains movie files, captured images and slides created with the exclusive Ulead Photo Explorer 8.0 for NEC contained on the CD-ROM. See the sup- plied NEC Wired and Wireless Network Setup Guide for installing the Ulea\ d Photo Explorer 8.0 for NEC. (→ page 63 “5. Using the Viewer”) NETWORK Selects a signal from the LAN port (RJ-45) or the installed USB wirele\ ss LAN unit. 7 6. Using On-Screen Menu [E NTRY L IST] Using the Entry List When any source adjustments are made, the adjustments are automatically registered in the Entry List. The (adjust- ment values of) registered signals can be loaded from the Entry List wh\ enever necessary. However, only up to 100 patterns can be registered in the Entry List. When 100 patterns have been registered in the Entry List, an error message is then displayed and no additional patterns can be registered. You should thus delete (adjustment values of) signals that are no longer needed. Entering the Currently p rojected Signal into the Entry List 1. Display the Entry List. 2. Use the SELECT or button on your remote control or the projector cabinet to select any number. 3. Use the SELECT button to select [ S TORE] and press the ENTER button. You can edit signals on the [ E NTRY L IST]. L OAD ..................... Enables you to select a signal from the list. S TORE ................... Enables you to store the currently projected signal. C UT ........................ Enables you to remove a selected signal from the list and place it on th\ e “clipboard” in the projector. C OP y ..................... Enables you to copy a selected signal from the list and place it on the \ “clipboard” in the projector. P ASTE .................... Enables you to paste the signal placed on the “clipboard” to any o\ ther line of the list. E DIT ....................... Enables you to change SOURCE NAME, INPUT TERMINAL, LOCK, and SKIP.
