Appendix B Environmental Information
The ASTRO XTL 5000 700–800 MHz digital mobile radio was designed using Design for 
Environment  (DfE) principles. The electronic portions of the product achieved a 59% percent 
reduction in the lead content and a 73% reduction in halogen content. Using Motorola-proprietary 
software (GDA), Motorola determined this product is 98% recoverable and 73% recyclable. An
