4StartStartPut in the cards & power onYour 4G nano SIM card is already installed in your phone. If you need to replace the SIM card or insert an optional microSD memory card, follow these instructions. Caution: Make sure you use the correct size SIM card, don’t cut the SIM card, and don’t use an adapter with your SIM card. 2. Put the nano SIM card and an optional microSD memory card in the tray with the gold contacts facing up. Nano SIM 1. Use the tool to pop out the SIM/memory card tray.3. Push the tray back into your phone. Use the TurboPower™ charger to charge up or top off your phone fast. Your phone shows the charge level as it charges. To turn on your phone, press and hold the Power button until the screen turns on. Wa rn i ng: Please use only an approved charging accessory to charge your phone. Improper handling of the charging port, as well as the use of an incompatible charger, may cause damage to your phone and void the warranty. Power button
5 Start Battery lifeYour phone processes tons of information and apps at 4G LTE speed. Depending on what you use, that can take a lot of power. To see what’s using up battery power, tap Apps > Settings >Battery . To help improve battery life, tap Apps > Settings > Battery >Menu > Battery saver . Ti p : To quickly open settings, swipe the status bar or lock screen down with two fingers and tap . Ti p s & t r i c k sTo save even more battery life between charges, you could reduce: •Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® use: Tap Apps > Settings > Wi-Fi or Bluetooth and tap the switch at the top to turn them off when you don’t need them. •GPS use: Tap Apps > Settings >Location >Mode > Battery saving to turn off GPS tracking. •Display brightness: Tap Apps > Settings >Display > Brightness level and drag the brightness slider left. Make sure Adaptive brightness is also turned on. •Display timeout delay: Tap Apps > Settings >Display > Sleep >(shorter setting). •Widgets that stream information to your home screen, like news or weather. •Unused online accounts that you registered: Tap Apps > Settings >Accounts . Tap the account you want to remove. Tap it again, then tap Menu > Remove account . •Recording or watching videos, listening to music, or taking pictures. Wa rn i ng: Don't try to remove or replace the battery yourself—doing so may damage the battery and could cause burning and injury. If your phone becomes unresponsive, try a reboot—press and hold the Power button until the screen goes dark, and your phone restarts.
6StartSetup WizardAfter you power on, let the Setup Wizard walk you through the registration process. Just select your language and follow the screen prompts to get started. If you use Gmail™, you already have a Google™ account—if not, you can create an account during setup. Signing into your Google account lets you access, sync, and backup your stuff. See your Google apps, contacts, calendar, photos, and more. Add your account SKIP Sign in to get the most out of your device. Enter your email Or create a new account Sign in to access and sync your contacts, calendar, and photos. Ti p s & t r i c k s•Wi-Fi network: For faster Internet access or to conserve mobile data use, swipe the status bar down with two fingers and tap Wi-Fi . There’s more in “Wi-Fi Networks” on page 48. • Accounts: To add, edit, or delete accounts, tap Apps > Settings >Accounts . To set up email accounts, see “Gmail” on page 31 and “Email” on page 31. For help with your Google account, visit www.google.com/accounts. •Contacts: To get your contacts from your old phone, you have options. If your old phone was also an Android™ phone and you used the Android Backup and Restore feature, your contacts automatically appear on your new phone. Otherwise, use the Verizon Cloud app in “Ve r i z o n Cloud” on page 7. Or, visit www.motorola.com/transfercontacts. Note: This phone supports apps and services that may use a lot of data, so make sure your data plan meets your needs. Contact your service provider for details.
7 Start Ve r i zo n C l o u dDuring setup you can choose to back up your contacts, messages, photos and more on Verizon Cloud, and view them anytime, anywhere on any device. Your content can be easily restored if your phone is lost or damaged, or if you get a new phone.Old phone to new phoneIf you used Verizon Cloud on your old phone, copying your personal stuff from your old phone to your new phone is easy. On your old phone: Tap Apps > Cloud , then tap > Tools >Content Transfer >Copy content FROM this phone . Content TransferWhat do you want to do?Copy content FROM this phone Copy content TO this phone Tap this option on your old phone to get started. On your new phone: Ta p A p p s > Cloud , then tap > Tools >Content Transfer >Copy content TO this phone . Follow the instructions to copy your content from the cloud to your new phone. Ti p s & t r i c k s•While you’re copying content, you can keep using your phone. •Signing in to your Google account copies your apps if they are backed up to the cloud. •For phones that support copying music, not all music can be copied. (If you want to know more, you can search online to learn about digital rights management or DRM-protected files.)Wireless chargingCharge your phone without wires. Just place the phone on an optional Qi or PMA charging pad accessory. For best results, follow the instructions on your phone to align the phone with the charging pad. Your phone shows battery charging status as it charges.

For even more settings, tap . •Remove shortcut: To remove an app shortcut from the home screen, touch and hold the app, then drag it to Remove .
