Turn the Radio On/Off Turn the On-Off/Volume knob clockwise. You will hear a beep and see the Transmit Light flash momentarily to indicate the radio is on. To turn the radio off, turn the On-Off/Volume knob counterclockwise. You will hear a click to indicate the radio is turned off. Built-In VOX (Optional) Some M-Series models have built-in VOX (Voice Activated Transmission). This feature allows hands-free operation of your radio. The sound of your voice activates transmis- sion when the radio is used with a Headset With Swivel Boom Mic (HMN9038) or Ear- piece With Microphone (HMN9039) (Both headset and earpiece are sold separately). If using Charger Adapter, make sure the plug is firmly con- nected into jack and the light on the adapter glows indicating correct charging status.
