Chapter 3 TRANSCEIVER PERFORMANCE TESTING 1.0 General These radios meet published specifications through their manufacturing process by utilizing high- accuracy laboratory-quality test equipment. The recommended field service equipment approaches the accuracy of the manufacturing equipment with few exceptions. 3-2TRANSCEIVER PERFORMANCE TESTING 3.0 RF Test Mode (5-Tone Radios) When the radio is operating in its normal environment, it is not possible to test all individual aspects of the transmitter and receiver performance. Therefore a special “test mode” is used to allow the service technician to perform certain functional tests on the product. A control head fuctional test mode is also available.
