Plastic When purchasing plasticware, be sure it is suitable for use in a microwave. It must be heat resistant up to 230°F (110°C) otherwise the plastic may melt into the food. Covering the food Plastics are only heat-resistant up to 230°F (110°C). Higher temperatures can cause the cover to melt into the food. The cover should not completely seal the container. Setting the time of day Connect the appliance to the electrical supply. 12:00 and thesymbol will flash in the display until the time of day is set. When heating food which cannot be stirred or turned, it is best to use a lower power level. Set the desired time using the Time selector. A time between 10 seconds and 90 minutes can be set.
