In normal use, ice and frost will form on the evaporator plates. If allowed to accumulate, this will impair the efficiency of the freezer and increase the consumption of electricity. Do not scrape ice and frost off the evaporator plates as this can damage them and render the appliance unusable. The freezer should be defrosted from time to time. Do not use defrosting sprays or de-icers, as they could contain substances which may damage the plastic parts and which may cause a build-up of gases and pose a danger to health.
