Playing a VCR
Preparation
 yBefore using the remote control, press the VCR button to select the device to be operated.

Still Picture and Frame-by-Frame Playback

Movie menu options
1. Press s/w to select a folder/file on the Movie menu then press ENTER (b). Movie menu options appear.
2. Press s/w to select an option, and press ENTER (b).

Playing an Audio CD or MP3/
WMA Disc
The Recorder can play audio CDs. Also, the Recorder can play MP3/WMA formatted recordings on CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD±R or DVD±RW disc.
Before playing MP3/WMA recordings, read the notes on MP3/WMA Recordings on page 45.

Search (Audio CD only)
1. Press SCAN (c or v) during playback.The recorder will now go into SEARCH mode.

Restrictions on video recording
 yYou cannot record copy-protected video using this recorder. Copy-protected video includes DVD-Video discs and some satellite broadcasts. If copy-protected material is encountered during a recording, recording will pause or stop automatically and an error message will be displayed on-screen.
 yVideo that is ‘copy-once only’ can only be recorded using a DVD-RW disc in VR mode.

Instant Timer Recording
Instant Timer Recording allows you to make a  recording easily of a preset length without using the program timer.
1. Follow steps 1-4 as shown left (Basic Recording from a TV ).
2. Press X (REC) repeatedly to select the recording time length. Recording starts after the first press.  DVD: Each subsequent press increases the recording time by 10 minutes.
