Ascopemountedclosetotherifleensurespropercheekweldonthestockfor
astablefiringpositionandallowsforrapidtargetacquisition.Werecommend
usingthelowestpossibleringheight.Nospecificclearanceisrequired,butthe
scopemustclearthebolthandle,hammer(onleveractionsandhandguns),
sights,andbarrel....

stronglyrecommendsthatyoumountyourscopeasfarforwardaspossible.
Beyondthat,followthesesteps:
1.Withthescopeasfarforwardinthemountsaspossible,holdtheriflein
yournormalshootingposition.(Variablepowerscopesshouldbesetat
thehighestmagnificationforthisprocess.)
2.Slowlymovethescopetotherearjustuntilyoucanseeafullfield-of-view.
3.Positionyourscopehereformaximumeyerelief....

IfyourLeupoldscopeisoneofourmodelswithaneyepiecethathasalock
ring,followthesesimplesteps:
1.Grasptheeyepiecewithyourhandandbackitawayfromthelockring.
Oncethelockringisfreefromtheeyepiece,turnitclockwiseawayfrom
theeyepiecetokeepitoutofthewayduringtheadjustment.
2.Ifyoutendtoholdthingsawayfromyourselftoseethemclearly(youare
farsighted)turntheeyepiececounterclockwisebyacoupleofturns.Ifyou
holdthingsclosetoyourselftoseethemclearly(youarenearsighted)turn
theeyepiececlockwisebyacoupleofturns....

Tosavetimeandammunition,startoutinyourshoporgunroomwitha
bore-sightingcollimator.Followthedirectionsincludedwiththecollimatorfor
specificinstructionsonitsproperuse.Remember,whenpossible,itisbetterto
maketheinitialwindageadjustmentstothemountbasebeforeusingthe
scopeswindageadjustment.
NOTE:Bore-sightingaloneisnotsufficienttosight-inascope.Youmustmakefinal
adjustmentsbyshootingthefirearmusingthesameammunitionyouuseinthefield.

increments.If,forexample,therearefourhashmarksfromzeroto(and
including)thenumberoneonanadjustmentknob,thenthevalueofeach
incrementofadjustmentonthatknobis1/4-MOA.Itisthesamewithall
Leupoldadjustmentdials.One-MOAmovesthepointofimpactat100yards
by1inch.At100meters,itmoves29mm....
