Our company, WISE OWL INNOVATIONS INCORPORATED, is a Canadian company
now located in the city of St. Albert, Alberta. We continue tobe the leading
supplier of parts for older Land Rovers in Canada. We have a loyal following of
customers throughout Canada, the United States and Latin America.
Land Rover Ltd. sold many vehicles in Canada between 1948 and 1974. In 1975 the
company abandoned the North America market, leaving customers with noplace
to purchase parts. (To this day there is no place in Canada you can buy a genuine
part, off the shelf, for a Series Land Rover from an authorized distributor!!!) To keep
their trucks running, Land Rover owners turned to a small number of independent
after-market parts distributors.
In 1988 agroup of Land Rover owners joined forces to start a Wilderness Expedition
Company called GREEN ROAD WILDERNESS EXEDITIONS and assembled a fleet of
Series II and IIA 109s to carry adventurous tourists on one-weekexpeditions into the
Coast Mountains of British Columbia. Rebuilding and maintaining this fleet oftrucks
created a need for parts, which could not be filled economically at the time by
local suppliers.
One of the principals of GREEN ROAD, Ray Wood, set upa second organization
importing Land Rover parts mainly to supply the expedition trucks but also offering
parts to other owners. Soon Land Rover owners all over Canada were looking to
Ray Wood for spares to keep their trucks on and off road.
The experience of running wilderness expeditions has been invaluable to our
company and has been of great benefit toour customers. We know what it takes
to keep a Series Land Rover running underthe most demanding conditions. The
Coast Mountains have old mining and logging roads climbing well above the snow
line. To keep heavily loaded Land Rovers running day in and day out in all
conditions, far from assistance is a great test of a parts supplier.
In January 2005, a decision was made to allow the acquisition of Wise Owl by Mark
Nault & Dana Nault of Rover Park Boys (Canada), allowing themto work closely
with Ray Wood to focus upon the research and development of innovative
products for Land Rover Owners everywhere.HOW IT ALL STARTED

Our professionally rebuilt engines come with new pistons, re-ground or polished crank,
new bearings, new or rebuilt oil pump, and new main oil seals. The timing chain and
camshaft are fitted and all gaskets and seals supplied.
The short block is the basic block with sump. Part EXC1981
The long block, 7:1 head, is the basic block, sump, rebuilt cylinder head
assembly with hardened exhaust valves and seats. Part EXC1982
The long block 8:1 is the same as the long block 7:1, except that the
compression has been increased to 8:1. Part EXC1983
The long block high performance is the same as the long block 8:1,
but comes with a higher performance camshaft and ported and
polished cylinder head. Part EXC1984Core Charge $250.00

basis. Our rebuilds are done by professionals with many years of experience working on Land Rovers. Only top

rebuilt unit can save you time and aggravation.
Gearboxes are supplied without Transfer Case but all gaskets and seals
needed to mount to your transfer case are included. Core charge $500.00

1. Beware of El Cheapo Clutches. We sell
clutch components made by Borg and
Beck and Quentin Hazell. Installing a poor
quality clutch is a false economy in our
experience.
2. Bolt 255068 should be fixed into the lay
shaft using red locktite.
3. The later Series III gearboxes are
considerably more durable than the earlier
Suffix ‘A’ type.

Transfer case suffix ‘A’(SI,SII) has a weak layshaft
and rather than repair one we suggest you find a suffix
‘B’ or later unit. We keep good used ones in stock.
Transfer case suffix ‘B’ has a very desirable lower low
range ratio and is prized by extreme off-road
enthusiasts. You can identify a Series ‘B’ transfer case
by examining the lay shaft gear. Part 521330 in the ‘B’
suffix has 22 teeth on one end. The more common
part 533080 in suffix ‘C’ on has 25 teeth.
Gaskets for transfer case are included in gearbox
gasket set 600603.

The SX001 ‘ROVERDRIVE’ is a quiet
running epicyclic overdrive that will
fit any Series Land Rover with the
original four or six cylinder engine. (It
will fit V8 powered Land Rovers
and is not warranted for use on high
powered replacement engines.)
Proven in thousands of miles of
testing in Europe and America this
unit will make your Land Rover more
economical, quieter and fun to
drive.
The ‘ROVERDRIVE’ is engaged by
depressing the clutch and pushing
forward a simple hand lever. It
increases the output ratio by 28%
when engaged and can be used in
both third and fourth gear. Unlike a
High Ratio Transfer case it will not
have a detrimental effect on the
lower ratios in the gearbox.
The ‘ROVERDRIVE’ is designed
and built in North America where
Series Land Rovers are driven great
distances. No other accessory will
add more value to your classic
