Earlier in 2005, Delphi  Diesel launched EUI repair with a prog ramme of test equipment and parts 
covering the A-series of injectors fitted to Volvo appl ications. This was followed later in that year with

We are pleased to announce that the EUI repair  programme has now been extended further to cover

This programme will cover every aspect required by th e network to carry out an effective repair. This 
will include recommended test equipment,  diagnostics, tooling, test plans, repair parts, manuals, SI

Delphi Diesel Aftermarket has issued Service Poli cy documents (DT307/2 & DT367) that give details 
of the clean environment and cleani ng equipment required to become an authorised Delphi Common 
Rail service centre. These same  standards apply to EUI repair.

There are also certain pieces of test equipment t hat a workshop must possess in order that it can 
upgrade to EUI repair capability. The  required equipment for Hyundai repair is exactly the same as 
for Volvo, whilst an additional kit is required fo r the servicing of the John Deere injectors:

3.  Test Plans 
The test plans for the Land Rover EUI will be dist ributed on the forthcoming version of OCRES 
(DDRX101 version 6). If you wish to  upgrade your OCRES access level to EUI repair status then 
please contact the Service Operations department.  
4.  Tooling 
To facilitate the test and repair  of EUI, a tool kit has been developed specifically for the dismantling, 
re-assembly and testing of the product. As with the  Common Rail pump repair kit, the tools have 
been designed to be used in the Hartridge clean cabi net to ensure compliance with the cleanliness 
standards. This kit is Delphi part number  YDT384 and contains the following tools: 
ƒ  Assembly fixture   
ƒ  Spring compressor  
ƒ  Actuator socket   
ƒ   Nozzle cap nut socket   
ƒ  O-ring sleeve    
 
There is also a tool kit available from Hartri dge (HT001) which is specific to the Land Rover 
application. 
 
In addition a range of standard wo rkshop tools will be required (see publication DDNX304) for 
details. 
5.  Technical Information and Training 
Technical information for EUI is now  available on Direct Evolution – this will include all the relevant 
parts lists and EVD’s along with the accompanying SI notes and Warranty notes. 
A repair manual, DDNX304, giving details  of all test and repair procedures is also available and will 
be issued to all those who a ttend the EUI repair course that will be run at regular intervals. It is 
essential that all workshops who plan to repa ir Delphi EUI attend the training course.

In order to help the Del phi network promote its EUI repair capabi lity, we have prepared two pieces of 
promotional literature. The first (DDSX288) is a 4-page brochure detailing Delphi EUI parc volumes, 
the principles behind the technolo gy and the requirements for repair . The second (DDSX291) is an 
overprint sheet, which the workshops can customise  with their own details and use to promote their 
capability onwards.
