Introduction 4 VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (VIN) If you need to communicate with a Land Rover dealer, you may be asked to quote the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). The VIN is stamped on a plate riveted to the top of the brake pedal box in the engine compartment (this should also match the VIN recorded in the Owner Information & Service Record book). Introduction 5 IMPORTANT INFORMATION Remember the breakdown safety code If a breakdown occurs while travelling:- ·Wherever possible, consistent with road safety and traffic conditions, the vehicle should be moved off the main thoroughfare, preferably into a lay-by. Door locks 10 Key numbers WARNING Keep the spare key in a safe place - NOT IN THE VEHICLE! Ensure the key number is recorded on the Security Card supplied with your literature pack - DO NOT KEEP THE CARD IN THE VEHICLE!
