Storing pictures on an SD or MMC card
Your camera has 32 MB of internal memory. You can purchase a Kodak SD or MMC 
card to conveniently store more pictures and videos. For best results, purchase a 
Kodak card. 
NOTE:  When using the card for the first time, format it in this camera before taking pictures (see table on 
page 50). 
CAUTION:
A card can only be inserted one way; forcing it may cause 
damage....

Reviewing a quickview of the picture or
video just taken
After you take a picture or video, the EVF/LCD screen displays a quickview for 
approximately 5 seconds. While the picture or video is displayed, you can:

Using the Auto-Focus (AF) framing marks (pictures)
When using the EVF/LCD screen as a viewfinder, framing marks indicate where the 
camera is focusing. For the best pictures, the camera attempts to focus on foreground 
subjects, even if the subjects are not centered in the scene.

Using optical zoom
Use optical zoom to get up to 5.8X closer to your subject. You can change optical 
zoom before or during video recording.
1Use the EVF or LCD screen to frame your subject.
2Rotate the Manual zoom ring to zoom in or out. 
3Press the Shutter button halfway to set the 
exposure and focus, then completely down to 
take the picture. (When taking videos, press and 
release the Shutter button.)

Using the low-light Auto Focus (AF) LED
Use this feature in low-light settings to obtain sharper pictures. When the Shutter 
button is pressed halfway in low-light, the AF assist light may emit a brief beam of 
light, if necessary, to illuminate the subject. The low-light AF LED is already set to On. 
On/Off settings are accessible in Setup (page 50).

Using an external flash unit
When you want additional or specialized lighting, use an external flash unit (sold 
separately), that uses a Hot-shoe unit or an External flash connector. You can use the 
camera’s built-in flash and external flash at the same time to provide extra fill flash.
NOTE:  Refer to your external flash unit user’s guide for details.

Press Review to view and work with your pictures and videos.

NOTE:  Pictures taken at the 7.1 MP (3:2) quality setting are displayed at a 3:2 aspect ratio with a black bar 
at the top and bottom of the screen.

Use the Set button to create a set of pictures to review and to perform various 
functions, for example Delete 
(page 17), Protect (page 16), and Copy (page 59). 
NOTE:  The selective settings are not kept when you change to liveview or turn off the camera.
