2. Learn the mechanical and handling characteristics of the firearm youre using Always assume that your gun can be fired at any time, even with all safety mechanisms engaged. Like any mechanical device, a safety can sometimes fail; it can be jarred or inadvertently manipulated into an unsafe condition. Safe Carrying Condition: Do not carry a loaded gun with a live round in the chamber while walking, running or crossing any obstacle, where there is any possibility of slipping or falling as this could lead to a possible unintentional discharge. Service Information A. Installing the Bolt Your rifle is completely assembled except for the bolt, which has been removed for safety during transportation and storage. The bolt is packed separately in the shipping carton. Hold the rifle in your left hand. With your right hand slip the bolt head forward into the receiver. It is extremely important when replacing the bolt to line up the cocking piece extension with the slot in the tang of the receiver. Also make sure the claw extrac- tor is lined...
