TRIGGER GUARD The trigger guard is a loop of metal that surrounds the trigger, protecting it from damage or accidental discharge. SAFETY LOCK OR THUMB SAFETY The thumb safety is located on the left side of the frame immediately forward of the hammer. To operate, pull slide to its most rearward position and release.
