Operating range This remote control uses infrared transmission to control the projector. It is not necessary to point the remote directly at the projector. The remote control will function within a maximum radius of 10m (32.8 ft) and 30° above or below the projector level. If the projector does not respond to the remote control, please see Appendix B, “Troubleshooting,” on page B-1. Note: The remote will still work when it is pointed at the projected image. Projector and remote control buttons The projector can be operated using the remote control or the buttons on the top of the projector. All operations can be carried out with the remote control. Chapter 5. On-Screen Display menu controls This projector has an On-Screen Display (OSD) that lets you make image adjustments and change various settings. Note: Yo u must have a display on the screen in order to access the OSD. Navigating the OSD Yo u can use the remote control or the buttons on the top of the projector to navigate and make changes to the OSD. The following sections show the menus in the OSD. Language To set the OSD language, do the following: Note: The default OSD language is English. 1. Press the Menu button. The Language menu displays. 2. Press the cursor left/right buttons until Language is highlighted. 3. Press the cursor up/down buttons until the language you want is highlighted. 4. Press Enter to select the language. 5. Press the Menu button twice to close the OSD. The image below shows the Language menu. The default language is English. Quality menu The Quality menu can be found through the main menu. 3. Press the cursor up/down button to move up and down in the Quality menu. The Quality menu is shown below. The following table shows the options that you will see in the Quality menu and the default. Item Description Default Brightness Press the cursor left/right button to adjust the brightness. Press the cursor left/right button to move to the Properties menu. 3. Press the cursor up/down button to move up and down in the Properties menu. The Properties menu is shown below. The following table shows the options that you will see in the Options menu and the default. Range: Black/Red/Green/Blue/White Blue Auto Source Press the cursor left/right button to enable or disable automatic source detection. Range: On/Off On Auto Power Off Press the cursor left/right button to disable automatic shutdown of lamp after 10 minutes of inactivity. Range: On/Off Off Volume Press the cursor left/button to adjust the audio volume. Range: 0 - 8 4 Menu Position Press the cursor left/right button to position the OSD on screen. Range: Left/Right/Center/Down/Up Center Menu Display Press the cursor left/right button to determine timeout delay of OSD. Range: 10-30 seconds 15 seconds Translucent Menu Press the cursor up/down button to set menu screen translucency. Range: On/Off Off Cancel Resets Auto Power-Off, Volume, Menu Position, Menu Display, and Translucent Menu to default values. Not applicable Setup menu To access the View menu, follow the steps below: 1. Press the Menu button to open the main menu. 2. Press the left/right cursor to move to the Setup menu. 3. Range: On/Off On Projection Press the cursor left/right button to select from four projection methods. Range: Desktop mount, front of screen/Desktop mount, rear of screen/Ceiling mount, front of screen/Ceiling mount, rear of screen Desktop mount, front of screen Frequency Press the cursor left/right button to adjust the A/D sampling clock. Range: 0-100 Auto detected Tracking Press the cursor left/right button to adjust the A/D sampling number. Range: 0-100 Auto detected Pip Size Press the cursor left/right button to adjust the secondary image size. Note: Pip Size is only available when the projector is connected to dual input sources. Range: Off/Small/Medium/Large Off Pip Position Press the cursor left/right button to adjust the secondary image location. Note: Pip Position is only available when the projector is connected to dual input sources. Range: Upper left to lower right Upper Left Pip Input Press the cursor left/right button to adjust the secondary image source. Note: Pip Input is only available when the projector is connected to dual input sources. Range: Auto/Video/S-video Auto Cancel Resets Video Type, Video AGC, and Projection to default values. 2. Press the cursor left/right button to move to the Information menu. 3. Press the cursor up/down button to move up and down in the Information menu. The Information menu is shown below. The following table shows the options that you will see in the Information menu. Item Description Video Information Displays the resolution and refresh rate of the connected video device. Software Version Displays information about the firmware version information. Lamp Hours Displays lamp hours used information. Network DHCP Displays Network DHCP status information. Network IP Address Displays IP address information. Network Setting Displays the Network Setting menu. Lamp Mode Toggles between Normal and ECO lamp modes. ECO mode uses less power but decreases the lamp brightness Lamp Hour Reset Reset this item after replacing the lamp. For more information, refer to “Replacing the projector lamp” on page A-1 Cancel Resets Lamp Mode to the default setting. Network Setting menu To access the Network Setting menu, follow the steps below: 1. Press the Menu button to open the main menu. 2. Press the cursor left/right button to move to the Information men. 3. Press the cursor up/down button to move to Network Setting in the Information menu. 4.
