When receiving another call during an active conversation, press to answ er the call, or press to ignore the call. 2 . When you are answering the new call, the other call is placed on hold, and you can press to switch to the other call. 3 . Press to end the two calls. Making a Conference Call You can set up a conference call with two parties. The conference call function is a network -dependent service. For details, contact your service provider. 1. Begin and establish a voice call with Party #1. 2 . During that active voice call, enter the phone number of Party #2 you want to join the conference or select the number from Contacts . 3 . Press to call Party #2. 4 . Once Party #2 answers, press to begin the conference call. 5 . Press to end the call.
10 3 Text Input Changing the Text Input Mode The current text input mode indicator is displayed in th e upper right corner of the text input screen. To switch between the text input modes, repeatedly press . You can select Menu > Settings > Phone > Text Input Settings to change the input language and enable or disable the predictive input mode. Entering English and Spanish In multi-tap text input mode, press the key labeled with the desired letter to enter the letter on the key. In predictive input mode: 1 . Press each key according to the spelling sequence of the desired word. The phone displays candidate wor ds that may be spelt by the keystroke sequence. 2 . Press or to scroll to the desired word. 3 . Press to enter the desired word, or to enter the word followed by a space. Entering a Number or a Symbol In number input mode, press the key labeled with the de sired number or symbol to enter it. In any text input mode other than the number input mode, press and then press the number or symbol key to enter the desired number or symbol. In any text input mode, press to display the symbol list. Press to scrol l to the desired symbol. Then press or to enter the symbol.
11 4 Contacts Creating a Contact 1. Select Menu > Contacts > Create Contact . 2 . Edit the contact information. 3 . Press or to save the contact. Searching for a Contact 1. Select Menu > Contacts . 2 . Enter the contact name, or the first several letters of a contact name. 3 . Press and to scroll to the contact. Adding Favorites 1. Select Menu > Contacts > Favorites > Add Favorites . 2 . Press and to scroll to the contact. 3 . Press to add the contact into your list of favorites. Adding a Group 1. Select Menu > Contacts > Groups > Add Group. 2 . Edit the group name. 3 . Select Members and press to mark the contacts to be included in the group. 4 . Press to save the members. Assigning Speed Dialing to a Contact 1. Select Menu > Contact s > Options > Manage Contacts > Speed Dialing . 2 . Select a number from 2 to 9 and press to confirm. 3 . Select a contact from the contact list or enter a number. 4 . Press to save the speed dialing number.

Add recipients by entering the phone numbers, or press and then select the recipients from the contact list. 3 . Edit the message. 4 . Select Options > Send to send the message. Creating and Sending a MMS Message 1. Select Menu > Messagi ng > New Message. 2 . Add recipients by entering the phone numbers, or press and then select the recipients from the contact list. 3 . Select Options > Insert Object to add picture, audio, video or other attachments to the message. 4 . Select Options > Send to send the message. Message Settings In Chat View mode, you can send and receive messages with a contact (or number) and view them in a grouped conversation. You can send and receive instant messages and email, or browse the web to catch up on al l the latest news. This section outlines how to obtain games and other applications for your phone. For more information about this function and airtime charges, consult your service provider. Accessing @metro App Store To access the @metro App Store, sele ct Menu > @metro > @metro App Store . Your phone takes a moment to connect, then the Catalog menu appears in the display. You can follow the instructions in the display of your phone. Select Menu > Camcorder . 2 . Press to configure the relevant settings. 3 . Press to start recording. While recording, you can press to pause, and again to resume recording. 4 . Press to stop recording. Playing a Video Select Menu > Multimedia > My Videos , then select a video file and press to play it. While the video is playing: Press to pause or continue playing. Press to play the next video. Press and hold for about 3 seconds to fast- forward the video. Press to play the previous video. Press an d hold for about 3 seconds to rewind the video. Press the volume key to adjust the volume. Press to exit the video player. Music Player A microSD card should be installed correctly in the phone before using
16 the music player. Creating a Playlist 1 . Selec t Menu > Music Player > Options > Media Library > Playlist . 2 . Select Options > Create to create a new playlist. 3 . Open the playlist and select Add to add songs to the playlist. Playing Music Select Menu > Music Player to start the music player. Select a music file and press to play it. While the music is playing: Press to pause or continue playing. Press to play the next song. Press and hold for about 3 seconds to fast- forward the song. Press to play the previous song. Press and hold for about 3 sec onds to rewind the song. Press the volume key to adjust the volume. Press to exit the music player screen and play music in the background. Select Options > Exit to exit the music player. Recorder 1. Select Menu > Tools > Recorder . 2 . Press to start recordin g. While recording, you can press to pause, and again to resume recording. 3 . Press to stop recording. 4 . Press to play the recording.
17 To ensure an optimal audio effect, keep your phone's microphone close to the sound source when recording. Managing Multimedia Files You can select Menu > Multimedia to manage images, videos, and audios stored on your phone and microSD card. You can view pictures, watch videos, set a picture as wallpaper, play music, set an audio clip as ringtone, and send multimedia files via Bluetooth or message. 9 Bluetooth Your phone supports Bluetooth. You can transfer data between your phone and other Bluetooth devices and talk by using a Bluetooth headset. 1 . Select Menu > Tools > Bluetooth . 2 . Select Bluetooth > On to enable the Bluetooth f unction. 3 . Select Search for Devices to search for available Bluetooth devices. 4 . Select the Bluetooth device you want to connect from the list and press to pair your phone with the desired device. When you pair your phone with the device for the first tim e, a password is required. A Bluetooth headset is not included in the product package and must be purchased separately. Before using a Bluetooth headset, refer to the user manuals of the relevant devices. 5. When the Bluetooth devices are connected to your ph one,
18 you can exchange data between your phone and the other Bluetooth device. 10 Security Keypad Lock When the keypad is locked, you can still press to answer a call or make an emergency call. To lock the keypad, press and hold for about 3 seconds in standby mode. To unlock the keypad, press , then . If the Auto Keypad Lock function is enabled, the phone's keypad will automatically lock after being idle in standby mode for a pre -defined period. To set this function, select Menu > Settings > Phone > Au to Keypad Lock . Phone Lock The phone lock protects your phone from unauthorized use. By default, the phone lock is disabled. To enable or disable the phone lock, select Menu > Settings > Security > Phone Lock . Once you enable the phone lock, you must enter the password. The default password to unlock your phone is the last four numbers of the MDN (Mobile Directory Number), and it can be changed to any numeric string of four to eight digits in length. You can select Menu > Settings > Phone > Phone Info > Ve r sion Info to see the MDN, and select Menu > Settings > Security > Change Phone Lock Code to change the password.
