30 Calls and contacts Making a call Smart dialling Smart dialling lets you quickly find contacts by entering parts of their\ names or numbers. 1 On the home screen, touch Dialler. 2 Under Dialler, enter the initials or first few letters of a contacts name or part of\ the contacts phone number. Any matches in Contacts or the call log are then\ displayed above the dialler. 3 From the list, select the contact you want to call. If your phone has du\ al SIM support, touch 1or 2to make a call. 4 To end the call, touch . Making a call from Contacts 1 On the home screen, touch Dialler. 2 Under Contacts, touch the contact you want to call. 3 Touch the contact number. Making a call from the call log 1 On the home screen, touch Dialler. 2 Under Dialler, from the call log, select the contact or number you want to call. Calls and contacts 31 Making an emergency call In the event of an emergency, you can make emergency calls from your pho\ ne, even without a SIM card. However, you must be in an area with cellular covera\ ge. 1 On the home screen, touch Dialler. 2 Under Dialler, enter your local emergency number and then touch . The ability to make emergency calls depends on local regulations and car\ riers in your region. Poor network usability or environmental interference may prevent\ your call from being connected. Never rely solely on your phone for essential comm\ unication during emergencies. Speed-dialling 1 On the home screen, touch Dialler. 2 Under Dialler, touch > Speed dial settings. 3 Touch . Choose a contact from the list and assign a number key to the contact.\ The number key 1 is the default key for voicemail. Turning on pocket mode If youre ever worried about missing important calls when your phone is \ in your pocket or bag, try turning on pocket mode.
