Apasswordisagroupofcharactersthatyouchoosetosecureyourcomputerinformation.Severaltypesofpasswordscanbeset,dependingonhowyouwanttocontrolaccesstoyourinformation.Passwordscanbe
setinWindowsorinComputerSetup,whichispreinstalledonthecomputer.

BBIOSadministratorandDriveLockpasswordsaresetinComputerSetupandaremanagedbythesystem BIOS.

BWindowspasswordsaresetonlyintheWindowsoperatingsystem.

BIfyouforgetboththeDriveLockuserpasswordandtheDriveLockmasterpasswordsetinComputer
Setup,theharddrivethatisprotectedbythepasswordsispermanentlylockedandcannolongerbe used.
YoucanusethesamepasswordforaComputerSetupfeatureandforaWindowssecurityfeature.Youcan

themasterpasswordmaybeeitherasystemadministratorortheday-to-dayuser.

BTheuserpasswordandthemasterpasswordcanbeidentical.

BYoucandeleteauserpasswordormasterpasswordonlybyremovingDriveLockprotectionfromthe
drive.
