CAUTION:Make sure that the HP Photosmart is idle and silent when you load paper into the main input tray. If the HP Photosmart is servicing the ink cartridges or otherwise engaged in a task, the paper stop inside the device might not be in place. You could push the paper too far forward, causing the HP Photosmart to eject blank pages. TIP: If you are using letterhead, insert the top of the page first with the print side down. 2.Insert the stack of photo paper into the photo tray with the short edge forward and the print side down. Slide the stack of photo paper forward until it stops. Check the estimated ink levels You can easily check the ink supply level to determine how soon you might need to replace an ink cartridge. The ink supply level shows an estimate of the amount of ink remaining in the ink cartridges. NOTE:The HP Photosmart can only detect the ink levels for genuine HP ink. 3.Squeeze the bottom of the latch below the ink cartridge you want to replace, and then lift the latch. If you are replacing the black ink cartridge, lift the latch on the far left.
