Installing critical security updates

Locating the Fingerprint Reader
The Fingerprint Reader is a small metallic sensor that is located:
●Near the bottom of the TouchPad
●On the right side of the keyboard
●On the upper-right side of the display
●On the left side of the display

Registering fingerprints
A Fingerprint Reader allows you to log on to Windows using a fingerprint that you have registered
using DigitalPersona Personal software, instead of using a Windows password.
To register one or more fingerprints:
1.In Windows, click the DigitalPersona Personal icon in the notification area at the far right of the
taskbar.
2.Read the welcome text, and then click Next.
The Verify Your Identity window appears.

Cannot connect to a WLAN
Before troubleshooting a network connection problem, be sure that device drivers are installed for all
wireless devices.
NOTE:Wireless networking devices are included with select computer models only. If wireless
networking is not listed in the feature list on the side of the original computer package, add wireless
networking capability to the computer by purchasing a wireless networking device.

Cannot connect to a preferred network
Windows automatically repairs a corrupted WLAN connection:
●If there is a Network icon in the notification area, right-click the icon, and then click
Troubleshoot problems.
Windows resets your network device and attempts to reconnect to one of the preferred
networks.
●If there is no Network icon in the notification area:
1.Select Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center.
