Connecting to a WLAN
NOTE:WhenyouaresettingupInternetaccessinyourhome,youmustestablishanaccountwithan
Internetserviceprovider(ISP).TopurchaseInternetserviceandamodem,contactalocalISP.TheISPwillhelp
setupthemodem,installanetworkcabletoconnectyourwirelessroutertothemodem,andtesttheInternet service.
ToconnecttoaWLAN,followthesesteps:
1.BesurethattheWLANdeviceison.
2.Selectthenetworkstatusiconinthetaskbar,andthenconnecttooneoftheavailablenetworks.
IftheWLANisasecurity-enabledWLAN,youarepromptedtoenterasecuritycode.Enterthecode,and
thenselect
Nexttocompletetheconnection.
NOTE:IfnoWLANsarelisted,youmaybeoutofrangeofawirelessrouteroraccesspoint.NOTE:IfyoudonotseetheWLANyouwanttoconnectto,right-clickthenetworkstatusiconinthe
taskbar,andthenselect
Open Network and Sharing Center.SelectSet up a new connection or 
network
.Alistofoptionsisdisplayed,allowingyoutomanuallysearchforandconnecttoanetworkor
tocreateanewnetworkconnection.
3.Followtheon-screeninstructionstocompletetheconnection.
Aftertheconnectionismade,selectthenetworkstatusiconatthefarrightofthetaskbar,toverifythename andstatusoftheconnection.
