1-14 Product Information HP Omnibook XE4100/XE4500 Internal Design The motherboard PCA is the central component of the notebook’s design. It plays a role in virtually all system functions. The CPU module and most other subsystems connect to the motherboard. The following figure shows the connections among the notebook’s replaceable electronic modules. HP Omnibook XE4100/XE4500 Removal and Replacement 2-5 Removing a SDRAM Module (User-Replaceable) The notebook has no system memory built into its motherboard, but has two slots for SDRAM modules. One slot contains an SDRAM module that was factory installed. Note Omnibook XE4100 models use only PC133 SDRAM modules, and Omnibook XE4500 models use only DDR266 SDRAM modules.
