Reverse this procedure to install the USB/digital media board.
Bluetooth module cable
NOTE:The Bluetooth module cable is included in the Cable Kit, spare part number 487138-001.
Before removing the Bluetooth module cable, follow these steps:
1.Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.Disconnect the power from the computer...

Rear cover

Before removing the rear cover, follow these steps:
1.Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and
then unplugging the AC Adapter from the computer.

4.Remove the three Phillips PM2.5×3.0 broad-head screws (1) that secure the rear cover to the base
enclosure.
NOTE:The microphone extension cable ground loop (2) is secured the computer by the left-most
broad-head screw.
5.Remove the two Phillips PM2.5×5.0 screws (3) that secure the rear cover to the base enclosure.
6.Remove the microphone extension cable (4) from the clips and routing channel built into the rear
cover.

Serial connector and cable

Remove the serial connector and cable:
1.Disconnect the serial connector cable (1) from the system board.
2.Remove the two HM5.0×9.0 screw locks (2) that secure the serial connector to the base enclosure.
3.Remove the serial connector (3) from the clip built into the base enclosure.
4.Remove the serial connector and cable.
Reverse this procedure to install the serial connector and cable.

4.Remove the system board bracket (3).
NOTE:The system board bracket is available using spare part number 486291-001.
5.Position the base enclosure with the front toward you.
6.Disconnect the following cables from the system board:
(1) Modem module cable
(2) Bluetooth module cable
(3) Serial connector cable
NOTE:Step 7 applies only to computer models not equipped with WWAN capability.
7.Remove the Phillips PM2.5×5.0 screw (4) that secures the system board to the base enclosure.
8.Remove the two Phillips...

9.Remove the Phillips PM2.5×5.0 screw (2) that secures the system board to the base enclosure.
10.Use the right side of the system board (1) immediately behind the optical drive connector board
(2) to lift the right side of the system board (3) until it rests at an angle.
CAUTION:When lifting the system board, do not exert any pressure on the optical drive
connector board (2). Failure to follow this caution can result in damage to the system board and
optical drive connector.
