When exposed to light in the Vacuum Compartment,
Ethylene gas and odour will be dissolved into
    carbon dioxide.
*3 Photocatalyst Preservation is useful for deodorant and anti-bacteria.
*4 Carbon dioxide is a useful component in Preservation Technology, it delays loss of freshness by suppressing vegetable breathing and control the action of an enzyme that resolves proteins (inhibiting the action of oxygen on the surface of fish and meat).
The newly developed Photocatalyst Preservation*3 is the latest innovation in food preservation technology. It uses an LED light to generate
carbon dioxide*4 in the Vacuum Compartment, which controls the atmosphere in which fruits and vegetables are kept. Together with a powerful
Deodorant by Photocatalyst Preservation that can dissolve 6 kinds of odour, the refrigerator is the most potent food preservation system to date.
    PHOTOCATALYST PRESERVATION IN VACUUM COMPARTMENT
Due to the presence of carbonic acid gas, the surfaces of
fish and meat become slightly acidic. Similar to the action of
reducing an enzyme that breaks down the protein, it suppresses
    the loss of freshness.
    Fish/Meat
    When the suppressed breathing pores
(Stoma) of the vegetables are closed in
response to carbon dioxide, loss of nutrients
    is reduced.

    OPTIMUM TEMPERATURE IN VACUUM COMPARTMENT
The Vacuum Compartment with optimum temperature setting of approximately –1ºC/+1ºC can be automatically adjusted to achieve ultimate freshness. Once CO2 is present in the Vacuum
Compartment, the temperature will be adjusted automatically to maintain the best condition for nutrients to be preserved*5. Food items can stay fresh longer without losing its original taste and
    texture, and will not freeze.

    ENERGY SAVING TECHNOLOGY
A mark of Hitachi’s environmental commitment, the C-series refrigerator combines an array of advanced environmental innovations to achieve complete eco-efficiency. During the process of
Frost Recycling Cooling, the compressor switches off automatically when the chilled conditions are optimised. Frost formed on the generator is then recycled to keep temperature low even when the
compressor is not in use. Together with the High-efficiency Compressor and Insulation system, the refrigerator is able to run efficiently on greatly reduced electricity consumption.

In conventional cooling systems, frost that formed on the evaporator would simply be melted and discarded by switching off the compressor. With Hitachi’s Advance Frost Recycling Cooling technology,
the frost formed on the evaporator is fully utilised. The cool air generated by the frost is used for recycling by sending it through the refrigerator and vegetable compartments, thus enabling full cooling
effect to take place even when the compressor is not running.
    ADVANCE FROST RECYCLING COOLING TECHNOLOGY
The evaporator is thicker, thus expanding
the area of heat exchanger which makes
    Advance Frost Recycling Cooling
    more effective.

refrigerators. This unique combination of Hitachi’s Original Vacuum I nsulation P anel and
Advance Frost Recycling Cooling Technology also helps to make the refrigerator more
    efficient in chilling food effortlessly.

    ADDITIONAL INTELLIGENT FLAPS AND SENSORS
The additional Intelligent Flaps and Sensors in the refrigerator, freezer and vegetable
compartments detect temperature atmosphere on the upper and middle shelves separately
based on food items stored to achieve ideal cooling atmosphere at all times*
    6.
*6 When more food is stored on the upper shelf, the additional sensor will detect and chill only the upper shelf, vice versa for the middle shelf. When both the upper and middle shelves are filled with food items, two sensors will work simultaneously to open both flaps to achieve the ideal chilling temperature.
