Tire Change Procedure WARNINGS When one of the front wheels is off the ground, the transmission alone will not prevent the vehicle from moving or slipping off the jack. To help prevent the vehicle from moving when you change a tire, be sure to place the transmission in park (P), set the parking brake and block (in both directions) the wheel that is diagonally opposite (other side and end of the vehicle) to the tire being changed. Removing the Jack and Tools 1. From the passenger side of the vehicle, unstrap the large center strap securing the jacking kit to the floor posts. 2. Remove the fuel funnel. 3. 1. Use your key to remove the lock cylinder from the access hole of the bumper to allow access to the guide tube. Assemble the jack handle as shown in the illustration. 2. Turn the jack handle clockwise until the wheel is completely off the ground. 2. Remove the lug nuts with the lug wrench. 3.
