4. Remove the lamp cover screw. Then slide the lamp cover to the 
side and lift it off of the projector. 
5. Loosen the two screws holding the lamp in place (you can’t 
remove them).

7. Gently insert the new lamp. (If it doesn’t fit easily, make sure it is 
facing the right way.) 
8. Push down the side marked 
PUSH until it snaps in. 
9. Once the lamp is fully inserted, tighten its screws. 
10. Replace the lamp cover, then tighten its screw. 
11. Slide out the air filter on the bottom of the projector and 
remove it.
12. Slide in the new air filter until it clicks in place.

Resetting the Lamp Timer
After you replace the lamp, you need to reset the lamp timer using the 
projector’s menus. 
1. Press the 
Menu button on the remote control or on the 
projector’s control panel. You see the main menu.
2. Use the  buttons on the remote control (or the arrow buttons 
on the projector) to highlight 
Reset, then press Enter.

Transporting the Projector
The projector contains many glass and precision parts. Follow these 
guidelines to prevent damage:
■Close the A/V Mute slide (lens cover) to protect the lens. 
■When shipping the projector for repairs, use the original 
packaging material if possible. If you do not have the original 
packaging, use equivalent materials, placing plenty of cushioning 
around the projector.

What To Do When the Lights Flash
The lights on top of the projector indicate the projector’s status.

orangeRapid cooling is in progress. Although this is not an abnormal condition, 
projection will stop automatically if the temperature rises higher. Make 
sure there is plenty of space around the projector for ventilation, and that 
the air filter and vents are clear. If you’re using the projector above 4900 
feet (1500 m), turn on High Altitude Mode; see page 64.

Viewing Lamp Usage and Other Information
Use the Info menu to view information about the display settings of 
your computer and the number of hours the lamp has been used. 
Press the 
Menu button and highlight the Info menu.

The life span of the lamp is about 3000 hours if the 
Brightness
