Fine-tuning the Projector71 Restoring the Default Settings The Reset menu lets you return most projector menu settings to their default values. It also lets you reset the lamp hours to their initial default value; see page 79 for instructions on resetting the lamp timer. 73 5 Maintaining and Transporting the Projector Your projector needs little maintenance. All you need to do on a regular basis is keep the lens clean. Any dirt or smears on the lens may show up on your projected image. You also need to periodically clean the air filter and the air intake and exhaust vents. If necessary, moisten a soft cloth with lens cleaner and gently wipe the lens surface. If they are not cleaned periodically, they can become clogg ed with dust, preventing proper ventilation. This can cause overhe ating and damage the projector. Maintaining and Transporting the Projector77 Replacing the Lamp The projection lamp typically la sts for about 2000 hours of use (in high brightness mode) or 3000 hours (in low brightness mode). It is time to replace the lamp when: ■The projected image gets darker or starts to deteriorate. ■The lamp light is flashing orange. ■The message Replace the Lamp appears on the screen when the lamp comes on. To maintain projector brightness and image quality, replace the lamp as soon as possible....

Hold the lamp as shown and pull it straight out. 7. Gently insert the new lamp. If it doesn’t fit easily, make sure it’s facing the correct way. 8.
