Any dirt or smears on the lens may show up on your projected image. You also need to periodically clean the air filter on the bottom of the projector. A clogged air filter can block ventilation needed to cool the projector and cause overheating. The only parts you should replace are the lamp and air filter....

If it is not cleaned periodically, it can become clogged with dust, preventing proper ventilation. This can cause overheating and damage the projector. It is time to replace the lamp when: ■The projected image gets darker or starts to deteriorate. ■The warning light is flashing red at 0.5-second intervals. ■The message Lamp Replace appears on the screen when the lamp comes on.
