    troubleshooting information in your product 
    documentation, contact customer support services for 
    assistance. Check your Pan-European Warranty 
    Document for information on how to contact EPSON 
    Customer support. They will be able to help you much 
    more quickly if you give them the following 
    information:

    (The serial number label is usually on the back of 
    the product.)

    (Click About, Version Info, or similar button in 
    the product software.)

    Glossary
    The following definitions apply specifically to P-4000.
    AAC
    An audio compression standard with high compression 
    efficiency.
    Exif (Exchanged Image File Format)
    A file format for JPEG data to add image information, such as 
    thumbnails, date photo taken, and image size.
    JPEG
    A file format for strong color and grayscale images in 
    compressed files. Data saved using the JPEG format generally 
    receives greater compression than data saved using TIFF and 
    other formats.
    MPEG4
    An audio compression standard with high compression 
    efficiency.
    Motion-JPEG
    A video compression algorithm that plays video by displaying 
    still photos (JPEG files) continuously at a high speed.
    MP3
    An audio compression standard that can compress data to the 
    ratio of 10% without decreasing sound quality.
    NTSC/PAL
    Broadcast analog color TV standards. NTSC is used mainly in 
    Japan, North America, and various South American countries. 
    PAL is used mainly in Western Europe (except France), China, 
    and some other Asian countries.
    pixel
    Short for picture element. Each image is composed of a number 
    of pixels. Pixels are also counted in units of dots.
    Progressive JPEG
    A kind of the JPEG format. An image in the progressive JPEG is 
    displayed by gradually improving the resolutions.
    RAW
    A file for unprocessed data output from the CCD. You need to 
    install special software to display the raw data.
    TIFF (Tagged Image File Format)
    A file format that can store an image in different resolutions or 
    coding to one file.
    USB DIRECT-PRINT
    A function that enables you to print directly from a device 
    connected to your printer via a USB cable.
