Theseguidesshouldbefollowed whendisassemblingandassem- blingtheAmerican180: a.Followthestep-by-stepex- planation. b.Donotattempttodisassemble orassembletheweaponagain- sttime. c.Ifitisnecessarytoapplyforce, doitcarefullysothatnoneof thepartsaredamaged. d.Astheweaponisdisassembl- ed,lineupthepartsinthe orderoftheirremoval.This procedurehelpsinassembly oftheweapon,whichisdone inreverseorderofdisassembly. 4.PROCEDUREFORDIS- ASSEMBLY. a.Beforedisassemblingthe American180,makesurethat theweaponisCLEAR.Pull backonthemagazinecatch (figure2)andremovethemag- azine.Inspectthefeedblock andchambertoensureno ammunitionispresentineither. Allowthebolttogoforwardby squeezingonthetrigger.(Note: Topullback[retract]thebolt, pullbackonthebolthandleto itsrear-mostpositionuntilit stops,thenmanuallyreturnit forward). b.Detachmentoftherearstock isdonebypushinginondetent Figure2

Withthetriggerreleased,pull thebolthandlesharplytothe rear.Theboltshouldbeen- gagedandheldbythesear. b.Squeezeandmaintainpress- ureonthetrigger.Withthe triggerdepressed,theboitwill goforward.Pullthebolttothe rear,thesearshouldagain engagetheboltwhilethetrig- gerisdepressed. c.Withthetriggerreleased,pull thebolthandletotherear, cockingtheweapon.Pushthe selectortotheright(automa- tic)position.Theboltshould notmoveuntilthetriggeris squeezed. d.Withtheselectorintheauto- maticposition,pullthebolt handletotherear;holdthe triggerback.Theboltshould movebackandforthfreely, notbeingengagedbythesear. e.Testthesafetywiththeselec- torinboththesemi-automatic andtheautomaticpositions. 5.ASSEMBLINGTHEAMERICAN 180.Assemblyisdoneinreverse orderofdisassembly. 6.OPERATIONCHECK.Withthe American180fullyassembledand unloaded,andthesafetyrotated
