If the server is enabled, the DIR-685 will be automatically detected by UPnP AV compatible media players on your local network. This server provides the ability to share music and videos to computers on the local network running iTunes. If the server is enabled, the DIR-685 will be automatically detected by the iTunes program and the music and videos contained in the specified directory will be available to stream over the network. Select Enable or Disable to enable or disable the DIR-685 iTunes server. Specifies the folder or directory that will be shared by the UPnP AV server. Select root to share all files on all volumes, or uncheck the box and click Browse to select a specific folder. Use the drop-down menu to specify the interval that the iTunes Server settings on the DIR-685 should auto-refresh. You may configure A u t o R e f r e s h t o a u t o m a t i c a l l y update your shared iTunes Library data every 5, 15, or 30 minutes or at 1, 2, 6, 12 or 24 hour intervals.

Tick the checkbox to display the graphical authentication window on the login screen. Enabling this option adds an extra level of security as it requires users to type the password that appears in the graphical authentication window on the login screen, in addition to their user name and password. Remote Management allows the DIR-685 to be configured from the Internet using a web browser. A username and password is still required to access the Web-Management interface. By default only a member of your network can browse the built-in web pages to perform Administrator tasks. This feature enables you to perform Administrator tasks from the remote \ (Internet) host. If Remote Management is enabled, you can type an IP address in this field to restrict remote access to the specified IP address. Leave this field blank if you want to allow remote access from any computer on the Internet. The port number used to access the DIR-685 from the Internet. Example: http://x.x.x.x:8080 where x.x.x.x is the Internet IP address of the DIR-685 and 8080 is the port used for the Web Management interface. Administrator Password: Enable Graphical Authentication: Enable Remote Management: IP Permitted to Access: Port: Admin This page will allow you to change the Administrator and User passwords. You can also enable Remote Management. There are two accounts that can access the management interface through the web browser. The accounts are admin and user. To select Daylight Saving time manually, select enabled or disabled, and enter a start date and an end date for daylight saving time. Click this button to synchronize the DIR-685’s clock with the time set on your computer. NTP is short for Network Time Protocol. NTP synchronizes computer clock times in a network of computers. Tick this box to use one of the D-Link NTP server’s. Use the drop-down menu to select one of the D-Link Internet time servers. To manually input the time, enter the values in these fields for the Year, Month, Day, Hour, Minute, and Second Time Zone: Enable Daylight Saving: Sync. your computer’s time settings: Automatically synchronize with D-Link’s Internet time server: NTP Server Used: Set the Time and Date Manually: The Time Configuration option allows you to configure, update, and maintain the correct time on the internal system clock. From this section you can set the time zone that you are in and set the Time Server. Daylight Saving can also be configured to automatically adjust the time when needed.

Enable Email Notification: From Email Address: To Email Address: Email Subject:SMTP Server Address: SMTP Server Port: Enable Authentication: Account Name: Password: Send Mail Now: When this option is enabled, router activity logs are e-mailed to a designated e-mail address. This e-mail address will appear as the sender when you receive a log file or firmware upgrade notification via e-mail. Enter the e-mail address where you want the e-mail sent. Enter a Subject for the e-mail messages that will be sent from the DIR-685. Enter the SMTP server address for sending e-mail. Enter the Port Number used by your SMTP Server. Tick this box if your SMTP server requires authentication. If ticking the Enable Authentication checkbox, enter the account used to authenticate with the SMTP server. Enter the password associated with the account used to authenticate with the SMTP Server. Re-type the password associated with the account in the Verify Password field. Click this button to send a test e-mail from the DIR-685 to the e-mail address specified in the To Email Address field.
