Whenusingaripguide,positionthefaceoftherip guidefirmlyagainsttheedgeofworkpieca.This makesforatruecutwithoutpinchingtheblade.The guidingedgeofworkplacemustbestraightforyour cuttobestraight.Usecautiontopreventtheblade frombindinginthecut. TOBEVELCUT Theangleofcutofyoursawmaybeadjustedtoany desiredsettingbetweenzeroand51.5°.NOTE:When makingcutsat51.5°bladeshouldbesetatfulldepth ofcut,withedgeguidescrewremoved. Whenmaking45°bevelcuts,thereisanotchinthe sawbasetohelpyoulineupthebladewiththelineof cut.SeeFigure17. Allotherpartsrepresentanimportantpartofthe doubleinsulationsystemandshouldbeservicedonly byaqualifiedSearsservicetechnicLan. Avoidusingsolventswhencleaningplasticparts. Mostplasticsaresusceptibletodamagefromvarious typesofcommercialsolventsandmaybedamaged bytheiruse.Usecleanclothstoremovedirt,carbon dust,etc. _,WARNING:Donotatanytimeletbrakefluids, gasoline,petroleum-basedproducts,penetrating oils,etc.comeincontactwithplasticparts.They containchemical_thatcandamage,weakenor destroyplastic. Ithasbeenfoundthatelectrictoolsaresubjectto acceleratedwearandpossibleprematurefailurewhen theyareusedonfiberglassboats,sportscars, wallboard,spacklingcompounds,orplaster.The chipsandgrindingsfromthesematerialsarehighly abrasivetoelectrictoolpartssuchasbearings, brushes,commutators,etc.Consequently,itisnot recommendedthatthistoolbeusedforextended workonanyfiberglassmaterial,wallboard,spackling compounds,orplaster.Duringanyuseonthese materialsitisextremelyimportantthatthetoolis cleanedfrequentlybyblowingwithanairjet. ,_WARNING:Alwayswearsafetygogglesor safetyglasseswithsideshieldsduringpowertool operationorwhenblowingdust.Ifoperationis dusty,alsowearadustmask, LUBRICATION Allofthebearingsinthistoolarelubricatedwitha sufficientamountofhighgradelubricantforthelifeof theunitundernormaloperatingconditions.Therefore, nofurtherlubricationisrequired. EXTENSIONCORDS Theuseofanyextensioncordwillcausesomelossof power.Tokeepthelosstoaminimumandtoprevent tooloverheating,useanextensioncordthatisheavy enoughtocarrythecurrentthetoolwilldraw. Awiregagesize(A.W.G.)ofatleast14is recommendedforanextensioncord50feetorlessin length.Whenworkingoutdoors,useanextension cordthatissuitableforoutdooruse.Thecordsjacket willbemarkedWA. _,CAUTION:Keepextensioncordsawayfromthe cuttingareaandpositionthecordsothatitwill notgetcaughtonlumber,tools,etc.,during cuttingoperation.
