ToAssemble
1.Removebuttcapbyholdingstockinonehand;placethe
thumbofotherhandontheserrationsofthebuttcap.and
removebyapplyingdownandoutwardpressurefromthetop.
2.Removeaction,barrelandmagazinefromstock.Caution:
Usecaretopreventpartsfromfallingfreecausingpossible
damage.
3.Placeactioninslotprovidedinthefrontofstockand
securebyturningwingboltinbaseofpistolgripfingertight.
4.Toattachbarreltoaction,lineuplugontopofbarrelwith
slotontopofaction,andtightenbarrelnutfinger-tight.Note:
Charginghandlecanfallfromreceiverifnotheldrightside
up.
5.Replacebuttcaponstock.
6.Inserteight.22LongRiflerimfirecalibercartridgesin
magazine.
7.Insertmagazine,pulloutcharginghandle,drawcharging
handlefulltorearandrelease.
8.Rifleisnowreadytofire.
9.Note:Toengagethumbsafetyonrightrearofaction,
rotatesafetyleverbackindirectionofpointingarrowmarked
SAFE.Safetyengagesonlywhenrifleiscocked.

goodgradeofgunoil.Stockisnotharmedbymoistureorex.
posureandmaybewipedcleanwithdampcloth.
Aluminumblacktouchupmaybeusedifoutsidefinishofbar-
relandreceiverisdamaged.
DisassemblyoftheAR-7Explorer
BeforeattemptingdisassemblyofAR-7besurethat
MAGAZINEhasbeenremovedandBolthasbeenpulledback
toassurethatReceiverandChamberarefreeofliveammuni-
tion.
1.Toremovemagazinefromactionpressthereleasewhich
islocatedforwardofthetriggerfinger.Placemagazineaside.
Retractboltandinspectboltfaceandchambertobesurerifle
isnotloaded.
2.Toremovebarrelfromaction,loosenbarrelnutapprox-
imately2turns.Pulloutcharginghandle.retractboltabout
halfwayandthenreleasesothatboltwillstrikerearendof
barrelsharply.Thiswillseparatebarrelfromtightfitin
receiver.Unscrewbarrelnutcompletelyandremovebarrel.
Holdwithreceiverrightsideuptopreventlossofcharging
handle.
3.RemoveButtCapinmannershowninpicture.
4.Returnbarreltoitsrecessinstock.
5.Returnmagazinetostockwithopenenddownandstop
bosstotheleft.
6.Removeactionfromfrontofstock.
7.Depresscharginghandleandreturntheactiontoits
pocketinthestock.
8.Replacebuttcaponstock.

andworkmanship,undernormaluse.Thisfullwarranty
reflectstheconfidenceofitsmakerandthequalityofthe
materialsandworkmanshipofitsguns.Thisfullwarrantyhas
beenestablishedtoprotectyourinvestment.
CHARTERARMSwillremedywithoutchargeanydefectsdue
tofaultymaterialorworkmanship,duringthetermofthiswar-
rantyonceyou,theownerofthegunnotifyCHARTERARMS
inwritingstatingthemodelnumberandserialnumberofthe
gun,adescriptionofthedifficultyexperiencedandthedate
andplaceoftheoriginalpurchase.
IfthegunistobereturnedtoCHARTERARMSforadjustment
orrepair,youmustproperlypackthegun.Allattachments,
cases,holstersorspecialgripsshouldberemoved.When
returningyourFIREARMtoCharterArms,youmayship,in-
sured,UnitedStatesParcelPost4thClass;UnitedParcelSer-
viceorthroughalicenseddealer.Inanycase,shipping
chargesmustbeprepaid.Weacknowledgethereceiptofall
firearmsreturnedforrepair.Ifanacknowledgementisnot
receivedwithin30dayspleasecontacttheCustomerService

Oncethegunisproperlyrepairedoradjusted,thegunwillbe
returnedtoyouwithinareasonableperiodoftime.If,

reasonableperiodoftime,youwillbenotified.Returnship-
pingandinsurancechargeswillbepaidbyCharterArms.
EXCLUDEDFROMTHISWARRANTYARETHEFOLLOWING:
malfunctionscausedbyimproperuse;unauthorizedmodifica-
tions,adjustments.orrepairs;shippingdamage;physical
abuse;carelesshandling;defectiveorimproperiyloadedam-
munition;corrosion;andordinarywearandtear.
THISWARRANTYISVOIDIFOTHERTHANFACTORYLOADED
AMMUNITIONISUSED.Theproperrecommendedammuni-
tionforthisFirearmisnotedintheinstructionsattached
herewith.
ThisitemisclassifiedasaFIREARMandisreleasedby
CHARTERARMSwiththeexplicitunderstandingthatweare
notresponsibleforpersonalinjuryorpropertydamagecaused
byimproperuseoraccidentaldischargeduetoconditions
beyondourcontrol.Wearenotresponsibleforthelegalityof
itsresale..
ThiswarrantyreplacesallotherwrittenwarrantiespreJiously
issuedbyCHARTERARMSandinnowayreducesanywar-
rantycoveragewhichyoumayhavehadinthatpreviouswar-
ranty.ThiswarrantyisinfullcompliancewiththeMagnuson-
MossWarranty-FederalTradeCommissionImprovement
Act,PubliclawNo.93-637(July4,1975).Thiswarranty
givesyouspecificlegalrights,andyoumayalsohaveother
rightswhichvaryfromstatetostate.
