CETME Semi-Automatic Rifle 3 OPERATIONLoading MagazineThe magazine is loaded by inserting the cartridge in the magazine and pressing it under the lip with the thumb. Inserting and removing magazineAlways put the Cetme safety lever in “S” (safe) mode. Insert the magazine into the magazine well from below until the magazine catch engages. Remove the magazine by pressing the magazine release button.Safety selectorThe left side of the grip assembly has a “S” (safe) and “F” (fire) safety lever. The safety position can also be seen on the right side of the grip assembly. Always keep your Cetme in the “S” (safe) mode by setting the safety lever to “S”. The trigger can not be pulled while it is on safe. Never point your rifle at anyone even when it is on safe. To fire your rifle, move the safety lever to the “F” (fire) position and squeeze the trigger. Always be sure of your target and the area beyond it.Loading Put your Cetme in the “F” (fire) mode position. Pull the cocking lever rearward and up, this engages it in the recess of the cocking lever housing. Place selector on “S” (safe) and insert the loaded magazine and allow the cocking lever to slide forward. The rifle is now loaded. (Note: In order to cock the Cetme rifle the rifle must be off safe.)CleaningPut your Cetme rifle in the “S” (safe) mode. Remove the magazine and unload the chamber. Pull the cocking lever INTRODUCTIONThe Cetme Rifle is built using genuine Cetme parts and a U.S. manufactured made receiver. The Cetme conforms to B.A.T.F. requirements. It is semi-automatic only. The use of reloaded, re-manufactured, hand loaded, orother nonstandard ammunition may result in damage to theuser or rifle.The manufacturer and importer can not accept responsibili - ty for malfunctions resulting from the use of nonstandarddefective ammunition. CETME Semi-Automatic Rifle with a commercial rust preventative.Elevation and Windage adjustmentThe rear sight has 4 settings: 100 meters (open sight), 200, 300 and 400 meters (peep sights). To set the sights, set the 100 meter sight and shoot a group at 100 meters. Adjust the front post up or down until the desired point of impact is gained. The front sight is also adjustable for windage. To make the rifle shoot to the right adjust the sight post to the left of center. To shoot to the left adjust the sight screw to the right of center. (The small screw on the front of the sight base must be loosened before adjusting the front sight post. Tighten the screw before firing to ensure the front sight does not move after it is adjusted)SAFETYSafety FirstFirearms can be dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Proper and safe firearms handling is the responsibil- ity of anyone who touches or uses a firearm. Safety has to be the primary consideration of anyone using a firearm.When purchasing a firearm, you assume responsi- bility for its safe use, storage and transportation. It is partic- ularly critical that firearms be kept from unauthorized use, and this includes children. Your responsibility also includes, but is not limited to, the need to protect yourself and others from injury resulting from the misuse or abuse of a firearm. Treat firearms as though they are loaded Always be aware of where the muzzle is pointed. Before shooting, make certain the barrel has no obstructions. Do not allow a firearm or ammunition to be left 5 backwards and verify that the chamber is empty and release the cocking lever. Remove the butt stock which is held by two pins. Remove the grip assembly and retract the bolt assembly and remove it from the receiver. Remove the handguard. Clean the bore with a brush followed by patches and a commercial gun cleaner. To strip the bolt assembly remove the bolt head from the bolt assembly by turning it 90 degrees to the right and turn the locking piece until lug can be removed from the bolt head carrier. Clean parts using a cloth saturated with a commercial gun cleaner and relubricate lightly. To reassemble the bolt reverse the above procedure and push the head with the slanted surface under the tip of the locking lever. Be sure that locking rollers are in place in the bolt head when reassembling. To strip the grip assembly with the trigger mechanism, set the safety point vertically up, then pull the lever out and remove the grip assembly. Reassembly Reattach the handguard and insert the assembled bolt with the recoil spring into the receiver. Be sure that both locking rollers are recessed into the bolt head. Attach the grip assembly and set the safety lever to “S”. Slide the butt stock onto the receiver and insert the locking pins. It is always recommended to have your firearm peri- odically inspected by a qualified gunsmith. On the Cetme rifle head space is determined by measuring the gap between the bolt head and bolt head carrier. This measurement should be between .005” and .019”. If it is not, your rifle should be checked by a qualified gunsmith. Once the rifle has been assembled, wipe the blued surfaces4 CETME Semi-Automatic Rifle
physical injury. Have adequate ventilation at all times. Wash hands thoroughly after exposure. Store your firearm unloaded and in an area which is secure from unauthorized access. Furthermore, store ammunition separately, and in an area secure from unauthorized access. 7 CETME Semi-Automatic Rifle unattended. Secure both the firearm and ammunition from access by unauthorized people including children. When shooting, always be certain that the area beyond the target, including the backstop, is clear and safe. Ensure that shots fired present no safety hazards for yourself or others. Always understand the proper operation of your firearm, and never allow the firearm to be used by anyone who does not understand how to use the firearm properly and safely. Always use both ear and eye protection when shoot- ing. Always use factory loaded ammunition designed for and intended to be used in the firearm you are shooting. It must be the proper caliber and type for your firearm. Never pass a firearm to another person unless the action is open and the firearm is in an unloaded and safe condition. Never put your finger into the trigger guard until you are ready to shoot. When not using the firearm, ensure that it is unloaded. Carry your firearm in a way that will preclude acci- dental injury to yourself or others in the event you should stumble, fall or drop the firearm.
